2 Methodology The institutions that were benchmarked were UNC-Chapel Hill as well as the institutions that are considered peer institutions of NCSU (assessable at < There were two search methods performed. The first was a general search on the university s website, using three search terms: public policy, science public policy, and technology public policy. The other method of searching was to visit each universities school of public policy or public administration and browse degree programs offered and affiliated centers and institutes. The schools of public policy themselves were not listed, neither were degree programs in public policy or public administration. Every university that was benchmarked had a school or department related to this field, so it would not provide any insightful information to list the public policy schools web address and degrees offered. Instead, only deviations or special programs are mentioned in the benchmarking below.
