1 SequeLink Server Installation Instructions for the iseries Requirements This document describes installation of SequeLink Server for the iseries. Throughout this document, the term iseries refers to the IBM eserver iseries 400 and AS/400. Installation instructions for SequeLink Client can be found on the SPSS Data Access Pack CD; in SPSS Data Access Pack Installation Instructions for a Windows client, and in SPSS Data Access Pack Installation Instructions for UNIX for a UNIX client. Important: Make sure that you are installing SequeLink Server on the iseries hosting your DB2/400 database. Use the installation instructions in this document, not the DataDirect installation instructions, to perform the initial installation steps for SequeLink Server. Use the DataDirect SequeLink documentation to configure and manage SequeLink Server. The document Documentation/Merant/Sequelink/books.pdf, located on the SPSS Data Access Pack CD, contains links to all of the SequeLink documentation. SequeLink Server requirements vary according to the operating system on which you run SequeLink Server and the database that you are using. SequeLink Server 4.51 is the supported version for the iseries. The supported iseries database is DB2/400. For requirements details, see the documentation for your SPSS product and the DataDirect SequeLink documentation. Installing SequeLink Server Install SequeLink Server on the computer that is running your database. 1

2 2 Restore the installation and product components Start an OS/400 terminal session. In the QGPL library, create a save file called SQINS405. On the OS/400 command CRTSAVF QGPL/SQINS405 Press nter. In the QGPL library, create a save file called sqv3r7m0. On the OS/400 command CRTSAVF QGPL/sqv3r7m0 Press nter. Copy the SQINS405 save file from the CD-ROM to the SQINS405 save file in the QGPL library. On the OS/400 command CPYFRMSTMF FROMSTMF('/QOPT/SPSS/Merant/SLServer/as400/SQINS405.SAV') tombr('/qsys.lib/ QGPL.LIB/SQINS405.FIL') MBROPT(*RPLAC) When installing from the Clementine product CD use: CPYFRMSTMF FROMSTMF( /QOPT/SQLNKS/SQINS405.SAV ) tombr( /QSYS.LIB/ QGPL.LIB/SQINS405.FIL ) MBROPT(*RPLAC) Press nter. Copy the sqv3r7m0 save file from the CD-ROM to the sqv3r7m0 save file in the QGPL library. On the OS/400 command CPYFRMSTMF FROMSTMF('/QOPT/SPSS/Merant/SLServer/as400/sqv3r7m0.SAV') tombr('/qsys.lib/ QGPL.LIB/sqv3r7m0.FIL') MBROPT(*RPLAC) When installing from the Clementine product CD use: CPYFRMSTMF FROMSTMF( /QOPT/SQLNKS/SQV3R7M0.SAV ) tombr( /QSYS.LIB/QGPL.LIB/ SQV3R7M0.FIL ) MBROPT(*RPLAC)

On the OS/400 command RSTLIB SAVLIB(SQINST405) DV(*SAVF) SAVF(QGPL/SQINS405) Install SequeLink Server Note: During installation, you will see a message that V5R2 is not a supported OS/400 release. You can safely ignore this message since you will apply a patch for V5R2 compatibility after installing SequeLink Server. Add the SQINST405 library to your library list. On the command ADDLIBL SQINST405 nter the SequeLink Server installation command. On the command SQINSTALL FROM(*FIL) SAVF(QGPL/sqv3r7m0) Press nter. The SequeLink for DB2/400 V 4.5 Installation screen appears. To accept the default SQLNK45 installation library, press nter. To choose another installation library, enter the library name and press nter. If SequeLink Server is already installed on the iseries, a Library already exists message appears. To exit the installation, type C. To install SequeLink Server over the current installation, type I. To install SequeLink Server in another library, type R. Press nter. A Restoring SequeLink Product Library message appears. The install asks What type of network are you using? nter TCP. Press nter.

4 4 The INTRSOLV Product Registration screen appears. nter the following values: Table 1 SequeLink Server 4.51 Registration Information Name: Your name or company contact. Company: Company where you are installing SequeLink Server. Serial Number: IP: Leave blank. Press nter. The License Agreement screen appears. To accept the License Agreement, press F10. The message INTRSOLV Product Registration successful appears. To exit the installation, press F3. The message Start TCPSPAWN listener job now? appears. Type NO and press nter. Note: You can edit the SequeLink Server registration information after the install. On the OS/400 command ADDLIBL SQLNK45 where SQLNK45 is the SequeLink Server installation library. DTIPKY Apply the SequeLink Server Patch Apply the latest patch for SequeLink Server for V5R2. The patch allows SequeLink Server to work with V5R2 and fixes several issues for support of Clementine. The patch is located in a zip file on the Data Access Pack CD at: /QOPT/SPSS/Merant/SLServer/as400/V5R2ptch/sqv4r5m0.zip. Note: Apply this patch after installing Sequelink Server but before starting the TCPSPAWN listener. Start an OS/400 terminal session.

5 SequeLink Server Installation Instructions for the iseries 5 In the QGPL library, create a save file called V5R2PATCH. On the OS/400 command CRTSAVF QGPL/V5R2PATCH Press nter. Copy the sqv4r5m0 file from the CD-ROM to the V5R2PATCH save file in the QGPL library. On the OS/400 command CPYFRMSTMF FROMSTMF('/QOPT/SPSS/Merant/SLServer/as400/V5R2ptch/sqv4r5m0') TOMBR('/QSYS.LIB/ QGPL.LIB/V5R2PATCH.FIL') MBROPT(*RPLAC) When installing from the Clementine product CD use: CPYFRMSTMF FROMSTMF( /QOPT/SQLNKS/V5R2PTCH/SQV4R5M0 ) TOMBR( /QSYS.LIB/ QGPL.LIB/V5R2PATCH.FIL ) MBROPT(*RPLAC) Press nter. Rename the TCP and APPC program objects within the SQLNK45 library so they are not overwritten when the patch is installed. You will need these objects if you need to back out the patch. Restore objects from the save file to the SQLNK45 library. On the OS/400 command RSTOBJ OBJ(*ALL) SAVLIB(SQV4R5M0) DV(*SAVF) SAVF(V5R2PATCH) RSTLIB(SQLNK45) MBROPT(*ALL) ALWOBJDIF(*ALL) Rename the existing objects SSTCPNON and SSTCPALL to SSTCPNON0 and SSTCPALL0, respectively. Copy the TCP object to replace the SSTCPNON and SSTCPALL objects with these commands: CRTDUPOBJ OBJ(TCP) FROMLIB(SQLNK45) OBJTYP(*PGM) NWOBJ(SSTCPNON) CRTDUPOBJ OBJ(TCP) FROMLIB(SQLNK45) OBJTYP(*PGM) NWOBJ(SSTCPALL)

6 6 Start TCPSPAWN Listener Add the SequeLink Server installation library to your library list. On the OS/400 command ADDLIBL SQLNK45 where SQLNK45 is the SequeLink Server installation library. On the OS/400 command CALL STRTCPSPWN Press nter. License SequeLink Server Before you use SequeLink Server on the iseries, you need to license it to run with SPSS products. To do so, follow these steps: Add the SequeLink Server installation library to your library list. On the OS/400 command ADDLIBL SQLNK45 where SQLNK45 is the SequeLink Server installation library. dit the service initialization file. On the command DTSQSRV TCPNON where TCPNON is the name of the service for which you want to set the OMId. In the [access control] section of the service initialization file, add the following key: OMId = Press F3, and then press nter to save the service initialization file.
