2 2) The general search function: Provides two types of searches that may be performed: Search by Case Number Search by Name If your search request is too broad, the following message will appear at the bottom of the screen: More than 500 records returned, please add more search criteria and search again! Narrow your search query by including the year, case type or case prefix. You may also click the Help Button for additional useful tips. For example you can select the Case Prefix button and use the drop down menu to select one of the following case prefixes: DC = Civil (General Civil, Landlord-Tenant, Small Claims) DI = Traffic Civil Infraction or Ordinance Misdemeanor DR = Criminal Click the Submit button or press Enter key. 2

3 3) Function Buttons: These buttons are located on the search criteria page: Submit: Click to submit your search query or press Enter key Clear: Help: Erases data from search criteria fields Useful tips to assist in your search query These buttons can be found on all other pages: New Search: To perform a new search query Docket Search: Case history details in date order more commonly referred to as a Register of Action Master Civil: Case party details, disposition and date information. Party details are available on this screen through the View Profile button Master Criminal DI/DR: Case party details, charge, plea and date information. Party details are available on this screen through the View Profile button Transaction: Case monetary transactions Go Back: Return to the previously viewed screen Log Out: Disconnect from the system 3

4 4) Civil Search Criteria Results: If the search results page returns more than 16 records (but less than 500), it will be presented over several pages. The user may click any page number to review records on that page. Locate your record and in the Select field click the radio button that corresponds to your case line. Select a button located at the bottom of the page to view case information. This is a search example for a civil case. Click on any page number to review records on that page. The current page number is red Click the radio button that corresponds to your case line Locate the desired record Click this button to view civil case information. 4

5 5) Civil Master screen: By clicking the Master Civil-DC button on the Search Results page you can view various case data including the disposition. To confirm disposition data, contact the 15 th Judicial District Court, Civil Division at (734) Click the View Profile button to view specific party information. See example on next page. 6 Profile information is displayed by clicking the View Profile button from the Master Civil page. Date of Birth, Drivers License Number and Social Security Number data are not available to public users. 6

7 6) Criminal Search Criteria Results: For a Criminal or Traffic search, locate the desired record in the Select field then click the radio button that corresponds to the case line. Click a button located at the bottom of the page to view case information. This search example is for a criminal case. Click on any page number to review records on that page. 8 7) Criminal Master screen: By clicking the Master Criminal-DI/DR button from the Search Results page you can view various case data including the Count, Phase and Disposition. See next page for continuation of this screen. 11 8) Docket Search function: Click the Docket Search button from the Search Results page. You may also perform this function from the Master Civil, or Master Criminal DI/DR, or Transaction page. This page allows you to view case history details in chronological order. This is more commonly referred to as a Register of Action. To view additional pages of docket information, click on the page number located on the far right of the top blue bar. The current page number is red. To view additional pages of docket information, click on the page number. The current page number is red 11

12 9) Financial Transaction Screen: Click the Transaction button from the Search Results page to display financial transactions associated with the selected case. You may also perform this function from the Master Civil, or Master Criminal DI/DR, or Docket page. 12
