3 Welcome This Quick Manual will help you within the first steps of pdf-recover. We hope that we explained any feature and function as good as possible, but we cannot avoid mistakes. Demo version Online activation Copyright The demo version is feature limited to single page documents without Java scripts. Once you register at and your payment has been approved, you can online activate this software without further downloads. Please ensure an internet connection for activation. Tips for an easy handling Please follow this hint. Introduction Any Icon and popup shown in this Quick Manual are based on pdf-recover running on Windows XP. pdf-recover can be used to decrypt protected pdf files, which have "owner" password set. If you can t remember your password, this solution will allow opening decrypted file in any web browser with Acrobat Reader - without any restrictions. pdf-recover creates a 1:1 copy of your pdf file without any password limitations, that means you can set edit, copy, print functions enabled and so on. Also a 128-bit encryption is supported by pdf-recover. pdf-recover does not work with documents which have user-level passwords set (preventing the files from being opened). 5 Process Program call-up Manual mode Start pdf-recover in the start menu on your desktop (Windows) or Applications (Mac). Drag and Drop (Windows only) You can also use pdf-recover via a Drag and Drop option. Just drag a PDF file and drop on the pdf-recover icon on your desktop. Select PDF document... drag to icon... and drop. Messages At the bottom of pdf-recover you will find all program messages. Menus File Help Recover Document Opens your explorer to select the PDF file you want to recover. Exit (Windows only, Quit on Mac) Here you will close and exit pdf-recover. Help Contents Open the manual of pdf-recover as a pdf file. Register Software When you click to Register menu you will start the online activation process. Please pay attention to ensure an internet connection before you activate pdf-recover. Once you ordered a license in our web shop and your payment has been approved, you can activate pdf-recover by entering your login data to this menu. 6 Pay attention that our database will check the number of licenses you activate. If you want to run our software on more than one computer, please contact our sales or order the corresponding number of licenses. Maybe you have to enter some proxy server information here. About pdf-recover (Windows only) Provides you with information about pdf-recover. Here you will find the release number and registration information Recover Document Import Document You can import or open the document you want to recover on two ways: The way we already explained by using the menu File / recover Document or directly with the Recover Document button. pdf-recover will open the document you selected and create a copy of this document within the same directory your original document is located in. pdf-recover will use the same file name but prefix a ~ to the name. Before you can create the new document you will get this security alert: Please pay attention to any Copyright regulations. When you Continue you will start creation of the new document without any password settings. Press Cancel to stop this process.
