4 (27) Introduction This document provides details on the specifics of common payments in Sweden, such as common practice of using code elements and addressing of accounts and account providing institutions. It also details the use of remittance information. All examples use example values as content in elements which should be properly substituted for practical usage. Payment Types Payments are categorized into two main type of payments: Commercial payments: Commercial payments are transactions which involves settling of a debt which is related to a purchase of goods or services from a creditor. Financial payments: Financial payments are the means of a company to be able to reallocate its own financial assets within the company or its subsidiaries.
5 (27) Giro Payments Domestic vendor payments in Sweden are processed in the two Giro-systems The Bankgiro and the Plusgiro. The two systems are interconnected. All Giro payments are executed as non-urgent (NURG) payments. Bankgiro Payments The Bankgiro works with bankgiro number, which is an alias for a bank account. The Bankgiro offers structured remittance information. Creditor will be advised by his bank electronically and can enter the structured information for automatic reconciliation of his ledger. By issuing invoices with a Bankgiro number it is possible to pay the invoices for the payer and possible for the beneficiary to receive all the payments electronically and automatically reconcile the account receivables The account number is held with a Swedish bank with the Bankgiro number as an address to the account. When creditor's account stated instead of the Bankgiro number, the Bankgirot will advise on paper if requested. InstrForCdtrAgt Creditor Creditor address to which the paper advice is to be sent must be present in structured format. <InstrForCdtrAgt> <Cd>TELB</Cd> </InstrForCdtrAgt> -- or <RltdRmtInf> <RmtLctnMtd>POST</RmtLctnMtd> </RltdRmtInf> <Cdtr> <Nm>CREDITOR AB</Nm> <PstlAdr> <StrtNm>Scheelegatan 24</StrtNm> <PstCd>11221</PstCd> <TwnNm>STOCKHOLM</TwnNm> </PstlAdr> </Cdtr> Debtor Account is stated either with Bankgiro number or with account number. 6 6 (27) Debtor Agent <DbtrAgt> <BIC>AAAASESS</BIC> </DbtrAgt> * Debtor Account is stated either with Bankgiro number or with account number. Check with your bank options and requirements. The account number should not contain any hyphens ( - ). 7 7 (27) Plusgiro PlusGirot is a credit transfer function, which is part of Nordea, and used for mediating payments between accounts held by companies and individuals. The Plusgiro works with Plusgiro numbers, which are an address and a bank account in Nordea. By issuing invoices with a Plusgiro number it is possible to pay the invoices for the payer and possible for the beneficiary to receive all the payments electronically and reconcile the account receivables. The account number should not contain the clearing system identifier of the bank. Debtor Agent Debit Account * Identifying the debtors Plusgiro number <DbtrAcct> <Cd>BBAN</Cd> </DbtrAcct> <DbtrAgt> <BIC>NDEASESS</BIC> </DbtrAgt> * The account number should not contain any hyphens ( - ). 8 8 (27) <IBAN>SE </IBAN> </CdtrAcct>
9 (27) Direct Credits (Credit Transfers) Direct credits are not advised unless specifically requested in each transaction. Account number can be stated as either IBAN or BBAN. IBAN <CdtrAcct> <IBAN>SE </IBAN> </CdtrAcct> When using the BBAN layout, both Account Number and Account Agent should be specified: Account Agent Account Number <CdtrAgt> <ClrSysMmbId> <ClrSysId> <Cd>SESBA</Cd> </ClrSysId> <MmbId>8327</MmbId> </ClrSysMmbId> </CdtrAgt> <CdtrAcct> <Cd>BBAN</Cd > </CdtrAcct>
10 (27) Money Order Money order is issued by the Bankgiro or the Plusgiro and can be cashed in any Swedish bank. In order to indicate that a transaction is to be issued as a Money Order, the Creditor Account element must be absent from the CreditTransferTransactionInformation element and the Creditor element must be present. Creditor Creditor address to which the money order is to be sent must be present in structured format. <Cdtr> <Nm>CREDITOR AB</Nm> <PstlAdr> <StrtNm>Scheelegatan 24</StrtNm> <PstCd>11221</PstCd> <TwnNm>STOCKHOLM</TwnNm> </PstlAdr> </Cdtr>
11 (27) Salary, Pension and Social Benefit payments Domestic payment between banks through the Dataclearing or Bankgiro clearing and settlement mechanism payments can be executed as Payment with a future execution date. When executed as such, the transferred funds will be present on the beneficiary s account at 00:01 on the requested execution date rather than being processed by the bank on this date. This means that the payment instruction need to be sent from the bank of the payment sender to the Dataclearing so it is available at least the day before the execution date. Also note that for Payment with future execution date, remittance information will not be used. To indicate that a payment should be processed as a Payment with future execution date, the appropriate code should be present in the PaymentTypeInformation/CategoryPurpose/Code element. The mapping of the ISO codes to the Dataclearing codes is shown in the following table: ISO DATACLEARING EXPLANATION SALA LÖN Salary PENS PENSION Pension STUDSTÖD BARNBDR UNDERHST BOSTADSB FAMILJEB FK/PMYND FKASSA HE/VB Not applicable. pain.001 only provides SSBE in standard code list.
