5 PROJECT OBJECTIVES GENERAL OBJECTIVE Establishment of National Business Centre as an interface among entrepreneurs, R&D and academy Specific objective no. 1 To intensify R&D co-operation between academy and industry, and enhancing innovation activities of technology based SMEs Specific objective no. 2 Creation of NBC in Bratislava with aim to provide the comprehensive support to innovative SMEs, including coordinated support of R&D potential transfer into the business praxis
6 TARGET GROUPS Scientific community (universities/hei, Slovak Academy of Sciences, research institutes, research teams, individual researchers with special focus on young researchers, incl. students, spin-off companies) Potential innovative SMEs (young people, graduates, PhD. Students and post-docs, 40+ generation) New, innovative SMEs Existing technology-based SMEs
7 SUPPORT IN AREA OF R&D&I Enhancing the R&D co-operation of academy and industry State of the art and patent searches Identification of IP in SMEs Evaluating the commercial potential of technologies Protection and commercialization of technologies Widening and exchange of available research infrastructure, establishment of CreativePoint and FabLab Building the Complex information system with portal interface for provision of expert support services to project target groups National Business Centre Slovak Scientific and Technical Information Centre
8 State of the art and patent searches Ensuring the access to relevant information resources (patent databases, abstract and full text databases) Provision of support services to relevant target groups in area of state-of-the-art and patent searches (searching services) Searching services are provided by PATLIB Bratislava (part of Technology Transfer Dept. of the Slovak Scientific and Technical Information Centre) National Business Centre Slovak Scientific and Technical Information Centre
9 Identification of IP in SMEs Identification and addressing of most suitable companies to be provided by the service Elaboration of methodology for identification of IP convenient for commercial valorization Provision of services for identification of IP with commercial potential Service will be provided in co-operation with the Slovak Indistrial Property Office. Interconnection with basic consultancy for SMEs in the field of IP provided by SBA. National Business Centre Slovak Scientific and Technical Information Centre
10 Evaluating the commercial potential of technologies Identification and procurement of specialized tools for market analyses, business models and evaluation of commercial potential of technologies Identification and provision of access to companies databases, potential partners for commercial valorization of technologies, knowledge and inventions Provision of support services to relevant target groups in area of evaluating the commercial potential of technologies Markets research, where technologies and inventions might be placed and commercialized will be carried out for innovative SMEs. 11 Protection and commercialization of technologies Creation of local and foreign experts database focusing on experts in area of IP protection and commercialization, including their competence and contact details Elaboration of relevant methodological materials and drafts Provision of services in area of IP protection and commercialisation, including partner searches and marketing services Complementary service with NITT SK project, focusing on interconnection of R&D and innovation activities of research institutions and companies.
