1 SENIOR CLASS OCTOBER NEWSLETTER This is the first of many newsletters we will be posting during this school year. It is designed to give you important information on coming events that are of special interest to you as seniors. In addition to our information, we have attached a copy of the College Impressions Newsletter, which is a publication we subscribe to. SELECTIVE SERVICE INFORMATION If you are an 18 year old male, you need to register with the Selective Service within 30 days of your 18 th birthday, in order to stay eligible for Federal Student Loans, government jobs and job training. You may register by returning the card you receive in the mail; at your local post office; or on the web at: It s the law! ST. MARY S HIGH SCHOOL CEEB# This is the College Entrance Exam Board number that you need for your college and scholarship applications. It is posted in the guidance office, and we suggest you memorize it, you will need it! EARLY DECISION APPLICANTS If you are planning to apply Early Decision to a college and the college requires a Financial Aid Profile, you must register with the College Scholarship Service in order to receive your personal Financial Aid Profile. All other students should register as soon as you know for sure all of the colleges and universities that you will be applying to. Generally speaking this should be done between Thanksgiving and Christmas. You may pick up the Profile Registration information in the guidance office. Any student applying Early Decision or Early Action should see their guidance counselor A.S.A.P! FEDERAL STUDENT AID FORMS Although the Free Application for Federal Student Aid Forms (FAFSA) are not yet available, you can apply for your PIN now at: For more information about the FAFSA, go to : A Financial Aid Seminar will be scheduled for early January, here at St. Mary s.
