2 About AVM AVM Services has been in operation since 1995 and provides consultancy, validation/commissioning and training services to NHS, private healthcare, commercial and pharmaceutical organisations throughout the United Kingdom. About MMM MMM Medical Equipment UK Ltd is part of the worldwide MMM Group, which has decades of experience in infection control solutions, implementation and aftersales care. MMM UK has now opened a purpose built training facility at its UK Headquarters in Leeds. Our Training Team The AVM training team consists of accredited trainers, A1/A2 assessors, Authorising Engineers (Decontamination) and Competent Persons (Decontamination) with a wide range of knowledge and experience in the field of decontamination, making them ideally suited to deliver courses to Operators, Users, Engineers, Managers and Team Leaders within Estates, Sterile Service departments and endoscopy units, responsible for the operation and testing of decontamination equipment. Our Courses AVM deliver training courses on all types of sterilizers, washer disinfectors, ultrasonic and endoscope washer disinfectors. All of the courses cover the requirements of relevant NHS and European standards. Our courses can be tailored to suit the level of knowledge already attained at individual sites, or for staff new to the field of decontamination. Most of our courses include practical and theoretical sessions. Certificates of attendance are presented for all courses and, where applicable, City & Guilds certificates are awarded upon successful completion of practical/written assessments. 4 Washer disinfectors team leaders/users SSD STAFF COURSES FOR TEAM LEADERS/USERS All personnel required to operate surgical instrument washer disinfectors as part of their day-to-day work responsibilities. This course has been designed to provide the candidates with the necessary skills to meet the responsibilities defined in CFPP Define role and responsibility as identified in CFPP Explain the principles of the decontamination process. Provide an overview of cycle profile. Explain periodic test requirements classroom and Explain the completion of test records. Porous load sterilizers team leaders/users All personnel required to operate porous load sterilizers as part of their day-to-day work responsibilities. This course has been designed to provide the candidates with the necessary skills to meet the responsibilities defined in CFPP Define role and responsibility as identified in CFPP Explain the principles of the sterilization process. Provide an overview of the sterilization cycle profile. Explain periodic test requirements classroom and Explain the completion of test records. 5 Endoscope washer disinfectors team leaders/users/ engineers (weekly testing only) All personnel responsible for the weekly testing requirements of an endoscope washer disinfector. The objectives of course END01 will be covered under this course. Develop the definitions of the roles and responsibilities identified in CFPP Explain the interpretation of endoscope washer disinfector test records. Enhance the understanding of the disinfection process. Confirm the principles of completing test records/ documentation. Engineers with previous experience of the testing of endoscope washer disinfectors. The course has been designed to provide the candidates with the additional knowledge required to complete the periodic test requirements in accordance with CFPP Define the roles and responsibilities outlined in CFPP Enhance knowledge of periodic test requirements and acceptance criteria. 8 Authorised Person (Decontamination)* (*To be completed as part of the AP(D) qualification) AUTHORISED PERSON (DECONTAMINATION) Staff with previous decontamination experience who wish to work towards becoming an Authorised Person (Decontamination). This course is part of the Authorised Person (Decontamination) qualification. Candidates that pass the course and wish to become an AP(D) may need to demonstrate a level of decontamination experience in order to be signed off at interview with an Authorising Engineer (Decontamination) at their individual site. 10 AVM Services Training Section T: E: BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS 1 General Course Information 1.1 All details in this directory are correct at the time of printing, however AVM Services reserve the right to change the course content or course fees at any time. 1.2 All candidates will be requested to complete a feedback form. These are reviewed regularly to ensure that Quality is maintained. 1.3 City & Guilds accredited courses: Training certificates will be issued upon successful completion of written/practical assessments. Candidates will be issued with a City & Guilds enrolment number, which will be required for any future correspondence with City & Guilds. 1.4 On receipt of your booking, a member of our training team will endeavour to contact you within five days. Please contact us if you have not received any contact after this period. 1.5 Course instructions will be forwarded at least two weeks before the scheduled course date. If you have not received your course instructions by this date, please contact us. 1.6 Candidates will be required to adhere to MMM s on-site security and health & safety measures. 2 Course Fees/Payment 2.1 The costs detailed in this directory are quoted per candidate, inclusive of City & Guilds certificate fees. 2.2 The course fees include tuition, training materials and course handouts appropriate to the course. 2.3 Residential and non-residential options are available. 2.4 Residential courses Residential bookings will include accommodation, breakfast and evening meals for the duration of the course If accommodation is required prior to the course start date (for candidates wishing to travel the day before), additional charges will apply. 2.5 Training will be invoiced on receipt of the booking form and order number. 3 Cancellations/Transfers 3.1 Requests to cancel or transfer bookings must be submitted in writing to lisa.gatward@avmaddenbrookes.org.uk. 3.2 Cancellations received in writing 5 or more weeks before the scheduled course date will be refunded in full. 3.3 Any cancellation received in writing less than 5 weeks before the scheduled course date will be subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of the course cost. 3.4 Any cancellation received in writing within 3 weeks of the scheduled course date will be subject to a cancellation fee of 100% of the course cost. 3.5 Any request to transfer bookings will be subject to a transfer fee of 25% of the course cost. The deadline for requesting a booking transfer is 3 weeks before the scheduled course date. After this time, the cancellation charges will apply. 3.6 On occasion AVM or MMM may need to reschedule previously arranged dates. We will endeavour to arrange the dates at a time convenient to the client. In extreme circumstances, we reserve the right to cancel courses at our discretion.
