2 Dear Teacher, Congratulations on starting a Club de Protectores del Planeta. Welcome to the family of teachers and schools that have joined our program to raise awareness about environmental issues through hands-on activities. The curriculum is intended to provide K-12th grade teachers and schools with standards-based curricular materials that can be used to teach Environmental Principles and Concepts from second grade through twelfth grade with clearly defined learning objectives that are aligned to Florida s academic content standards and targeted at helping students achieve mastery of those standards at each grade level. The purpose of this document is to summarize the curriculum required for developing the Club Protectores del Planeta. The Club Protectores del Planeta is developed by Common Ground for Conservation and will be implemented through a partnership with UNIVISION and the Miami-Dade County School Board. All you have to do is fill out the registration form attached and follow the directions to book the activity of your choice. We will be providing the activities; speakers and materials at your convenience. This document includes the following elements: Calendar of United Nation and other environmental dates to be covered. Grade specific Learning Objectives Related to the Environmental Principles and Concepts. Fieldtrip suggestions and hands-on activities available for your special program. Sincerely, Mildred Real, CEO Common Ground for Conservation club@cgconservation.org
