1 (as of December 18, 2015) PROJECTED COURSE OFFERINGS FOR THE SUMMER OF 2016 The Office of Summer Session provides this list of summer 2016 projected Arts and Sciences course offerings to assist you in academic planning. Summer is an excellent time to get ahead or catch up, take a year of chemistry or physics or a language, take one or more courses that will allow you to study abroad or at the Duke Marine Lab, or make progress towards completing your major, minor, or certificate program. There are four course lists below: Term 1, 4-week; Term 1, 6-week; Term 2, 4-week; and Term 2, 6-week. The dates provided for each listing are the dates of the first day of class and the last day of final exams. Individual instructors will determine whether a final exam or a final project/presentation will be given during the finals period. The maximum course load for the 4-week terms is 1.5 course credits, while the maximum course load for the 6-week terms remains 2.5 course credits. The official schedule of courses will appear on ACES on February 15 and registration for summer opens on February 22. Watch for regularly updated projected course offerings on this web site between now and the end of January. Additional cross-listings for some of the Special Topics classes may be forthcoming. In addition to regular course offerings, many departments will offer independent study and special projects courses. Start planning your summer now. Feel free to contact us at , or [email protected], if you have questions. Course synopses will begin appearing on ACES as soon as the schedule of courses goes live on ACES in February. (***Contact the Pratt School of Engineering, the Marine Lab, and the Global Education Office for information regarding summer coursework sponsored by those academic offices.)
