1 ARTICULATION AGREEMENT IN LIBRARY SCIENCE BETWEEN JAMESTOWN COMMUNITY COLLEGE AND CLARION UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA PURPOSE OF AGREEMENT This document establishes a transfer articulation agreement between Jamestown Community College (JCC) and Clarion University of Pennsylvania (Clarion OR University). Its purpose is to afford students the opportunity to pre-plan their college careers, and to facilitate the transfer process from JCC to the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree program in Liberal Studies Concentration in Library Science at Clarion. GENERAL GUARANTEE OF ADMISSION AND STANDING Students who graduate with an Associate in Art, Associate in Science, or Associate in Applied Science degree from JCC with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 are guaranteed admission to the Liberal Studies Concentration in Library Science at Clarion. They are also guaranteed full junior status. GENERAL GUARANTEE OF OPPORTUNITY TO GRADUATE Students who graduate from JCC having taken a minimum of 54 credits from courses listed in Appendix A of this agreement are guaranteed the opportunity to earn the bachelor s degree in four semesters of coursework with Clarion, and can choose to take their required Clarion courses entirely at Clarion, entirely online with Clarion, or in any combination at Clarion and online. TRANSFER OF COURSES FROM JAMESTOWN COMMUNITY COLLEGE Clarion graduation requirements stipulate that at least 30 credits of the last 45 credits must be taken with Clarion. In addition, students must take at least 50% of the 48 credits required for the B.S. Liberal Studies Concentration in Library Science major (see Appendix A Section V.) from any of the fourteen Universities that comprise Pennsylvania s State System Higher Education. Clarion will accept up to the equivalent of 90 Clarion credits from Appendix A in transfer from JCC toward fulfillment of requirements for the B.S. Liberal Studies Concentration in Library Science major, leaving as few as 30 credits to be taken with Clarion. Page 1 of 5
