7 Today s Panelists Annette Konieczka, Senior Vice President, Director, Global Corporate in North America Healthcare Property Segment, Zurich Annette Konieczka is Senior Vice President, Director for Zurich s Global Corporate in North America Healthcare Property Segment. In this role, Annette is responsible for leading the profitable growth and continued strategic development of Zurich s Healthcare Property segment. She also leads the effort to expand Zurich s customer insight and thought leadership within the Healthcare Property segment, while working closely with her casualty and Healthcare professional liability counterparts. Annette has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry across engineering, underwriting and management, with 14 years specifically dedicated to health care. She holds a bachelor's of science degree in industrial engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. 7

8 Today s Panelists Michael Widdekind, Senior Risk Engineering Consultant - Property Healthcare Practice Leader, Zurich Michael D. Widdekind is a Senior Risk Engineering Consultant for Zurich. Mike has more than 20 years of experience in the loss control profession. Mike has specialized expertise in health care fire protection submittal plan review, health care builder s risk, fire protection codes, system functions, testing, maintenance, design and building code review. As one of Zurich s top specialists for hospitals and health care, Mike serves on three NFPA technical committees associated with hospital and health care occupancies. He is also a member of numerous professional organizations including Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) and American Society of Healthcare Engineers (ASHE). Mike holds an associate of applied science degree in Fire Protection Engineering Technology from Delaware Technical & Community College, as well as a bachelor s degree in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park. 8

9 Today s Panelists Michael DeWitt, Senior Director Risk Management for Tenet Healthcare Corporation Michael DeWitt is Senior Director Risk Management for Tenet Healthcare Corporation. Mike heads Tenet s Risk Management Department and has been responsible for the placement of Tenet s insurance programs since 2003 including property, workers compensation and malpractice. He oversees the organization s captive insurance companies, which provide hospital or physician professional liability coverage to its hospitals and ancillary operations. He and his team work with operations and other corporate departments on risk analysis and mitigation strategies. Mike joined Tenet in 1996 in the company s corporate accounting area, and he continues to consult with the finance operations of the company related to retained loss reserves and allocation methodologies of costs to its operating units. Prior to Tenet, he worked two years as controller for Third Party Claims Management, Inc. and seven years as an Insurance Examiner for the Texas Department of Insurance. Mike has an undergraduate business administration degree with a concentration in accounting and was a certified public accountant for a portion of his professional career. 9
