2 To Summarize Through this service, Hawai i HIE s goals are to: Expand on Health enet s clinical information delivery Attract additional participants(users) to the Health enet system Offer service to meet Meaningful Use requirements Bring in sufficient revenue to cover on-going costs Pay for enhancement/expansion if need, and Pay for replacement in 4-5 years The goals can be achieved if the service is implemented correctly. 2
3 HHIE Hosted Imaging Pilot Ambulatory Imaging Provider PACS System A 1. Imaging Studies Requested by Ordering or Referring physician Ordering or Referring Physician BEAM hosted BEAM-ViTAL Service 2. BEAM infrastructure transports images from PACS system to Health enet Hospital Imaging Dept. BEAM ViTAL Browser-based Image Viewer (Vitrea) PACS System B Through Health enet: 3. BEAM sends results notification to Physician 4. ViTAL caches images and provides viewer to Physician BEAM 2011 Vital Images, Inc. Confidential and proprietary information. For internal use only.
4 Benefits of Radiology Imaging and Results Delivery Service Experience from Pilot: One Ambulatory Imaging Provider with 1 Ordering Physician Include ramp-up period, and 1 week of Ordering Physician taking time off in November Total of 160 Images transferred between Oct 11, 2013 to Jan 7, 2014 Benefits Positive feedback from Ordering Physicians Expressed interested of at least one of the Imaging Provider (HDRS) to become an HHIE participant so that service can be continued, we want to move the Pilot to Production Eliminated CD-burning and handling Meets eligible provider Stage 2 Meaningful Use Requirements Delivers information near real time An additional Health enet service 4
5 Proposal Summary HHIE would like to leverage ONC funds to purchase a use license and hardware that will allow 750,000 transactions for the production environment for 3-5 years Images will be available for access for 3 to 6 months in the HHIE Servers Purged images will need to be requested again by Ordering Physicians To achieve 250,000 Images/yr transferred Hawai i HIE will need 390 Participating physicians with similar usage If we secure approval to begin implementation, HHIE expects begin delivering service in Feb/March. 3-year Investment: $248,902 with OneMedNet to support Hardware, Software and Licenses for Images Transport and Viewing $89,208 with DRFortress for hosting facilities and bandwidth Total = $338,110, for a 3-year-project 5
6 Proposal Summary (cont d) Revenue: Revenue Share of 12% of Transport Charge to Imaging Providers by OneMedNet (average $2/transaction, HHIE share = $0.24/transaction) Total of up to 8 million imaging studies a year in the State (estimate ranges from 2.5M to 8M) Revenue calculating using 10% of 2.5M/yr average of ambulatory imaging studies will be transferred using our technology per year If volume transported is 250,000/yr for 3 years, total revenue = $180,000 If volume transported is 500,000/yr for 3 years, total revenue = $360, years Return on Investment can be achieve either by Increasing number of images transported or Increasing number of participants 6
