4 AEE PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION PROGRAMS The Association of Energy Engineers administers a number of certification programs which enable professionals to receive recognition for their expertise in specialized areas of the energy field. All AEE certification programs require the meeting of specific educational and/or experience requirements, as well as the passing of an examination. Certification application fees are in addition to fees for associated preparatory seminars presented in this catalog. The certifications currently offered by AEE are described below. CERTIFIED ENERGY MANAGER As AEE s first and most widely recognized professional certification, the CEM credential is now used by many corporations and government agencies as a prerequisite in job descriptions for energy management related positions. Earning the right to put the initials CEM behind your name gives you many advantages in advancing your career. AEE currently offers four preparatory seminars for those wishing to prepare for the CEM exam. (See pages 8, 10, 11, and 30.) Students and others who can pass the CEM exam, but do not meet other criteria for the CEM credential, may apply for Energy Manager in Training (EMIT) certification. For more information, visit CERTIFIED ENERGY AUDITOR AEE s Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) certification identifies professionals as having the required knowledge and experience needed to succeed in the growing field of energy auditing. AEE s CEA training seminars provide an excellent preparatory tool for the CEA exam. (See pages 12 and 31.) CERTIFIED MEASUREMENT & VERIFICATION PROFESSIONAL Jointly developed by AEE and the EVO, the Certified Measurement & Verification Profes-sional (CMVP) certification program is offered with the dual purpose of recognizing the most qualified professionals in this growing area of the energy industry and raising the overall professional standards within the M&V field. AEE offers an excellent training seminar for those preparing to take the CMVP exam. (See page 13.) 41 AEE IN-HOUSE SEMINAR PROGRAMS Most of the live seminar programs described in this catalog can also be arranged to be instructed on an inhouse basis at your facility. Contact the In-House Program Manager for further information or to arrange a program for your organization. ADVANTAGES OF IN-HOUSE TRAINING. Lower overall training costs Decrease employee travel expenses and out of office time Maximize productivity and bolster team learning Most companies realize the importance of keeping key personnel up to speed on the latest developments in the energy field which impact their decisions. However, having an entire team exposed to the same body of instruction at the same time has the added benefit of motivating everyone to work together to accomplish specific goals. In-house programs have a proven track record of promoting cooperation, involvement, and results-oriented attitudes. In addition, by having a seminar conducted in-house, you can work with the course instructor to assure greatest emphasis on those areas most relevant to your operations and goals. Questions can often be answered in greater detail than is possible in a seminar whose participants come from many companies. COST ADVANTAGES OF IN-HOUSE TRAINING. You can train up to 20 members of your staff for one flat fee, or a specified fee for each additional student AND you won t have to pay your employees travel costs, nor lose their valuable work time before and after the seminar. CONTACT AN IN-HOUSE PROGRAM MANAGER FOR DETAILS. To discuss your in-house training needs, and for a detailed quote covering applicable seminar fees and cost information, please contact one of our In- House Program Managers directly. All arrangements with the instructor are handled by the In-House Program Manager. Your organization is responsible for providing a suitable location for instruction and for furnishing audiovisual equipment as specified by the instructor.
