2 The first two days of the congress will take place in Auditorium Rubens at the Paleis der Academieën, Hertogstraat 1, 1000 Brussel, The three remaining days will take place in Auditorium Paul Janssens, building K, at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Pleinlaan 2, 1050 Brussel. Hotel accomodation We have made arrangements with the following hotels: 1. Hotel des Colonies Kruisvaartenstraat 6-10, 1210 Brussel, located near the gare du Nord. Walking distance (around 30 minutes) to the Royal Academy. Metro connection to the Royal Academy and to the University. Rates: 95 EURO (single) or 110 EURO (double or twin) 2. Hotel Argus Kapitein Crespelstraat 6, 1050 Brussel, located close to the Royal Academy (between 5 and 10 minutes walking). Metro connection to the University. The hotel has free wireless internet connection. Rates: 90 EURO (single) or 105 EURO (double) We also offer some cheaper alternatives. 1. Guestrooms at BRAINS Domain Latour de Freins, Engelandstraat 555, 1180 Brussels, Three student rooms (suitable for two or possibly three people) are available at the rate of 10 EURO per night and per person. The rooms have television, shower and small kitchen. BRAINS is beautifully located in Ukkel, a town in the southern part of Brussels. The University and the Royal Academy can be reached from there by bus or train (30-40 minutes) 2. Guestrooms at VUB A limited number of guestrooms for visiting researchers is available: - 4 single rooms at Triomflaan 19 (30 EURO per night) - 5 double rooms at Triomflaan 19 (38 EURO per night) - 2 single rooms at Generaal Jacqueslaan 139 (34 EURO per night) - 1 double room at Generaal Jacqueslaan 139 (25 EURO per night) The rooms at Triomflaan 19 have television, shower, small kitchen and internet connection. The rooms at Generaal Jacqueslaan have shower, and a common kitchen. All these rooms are close to the University, and there is an easy metro connection to the Royal Academy. Reservation can be made by sending to [email protected]. We recommend that you make the reservation of a guestroom as soon as possible, since the number of rooms available is limited. If you make reservation for a room for 2 or 3 persons, mention the name of your room mate. The deadline for reservation of a hotel room is August 25.
