The anticipated date of hire is August 1, The Buckingham County School Division is located in rural, central Virginia, sixty miles west of Richmond, 40 miles east of Lynchburg, and 40 miles south of Charlottesville. The closest town outside the county is Farmville, which is approximately 20 miles south of the school board office. THE SCHOOLS The school division consists of one Pre-K school, 2 primary/elementary schools (K-5), one middle school (6-8), one high school (9-12), and one career technical center The student enrollment of 2,053 is supported by 320 employees. FY12 budget is $23,851,554. All Buckingham County Schools made AYP last year. QUALIFICATIONS Qualification for the Eligibility List of Superintendents in Virginia. Petersburg City Public Schools (VA) The School Board of Petersburg City Public Schools invites applications and nominations for the position of Superintendent. The anticipated date of hire is September Petersburg City, with a population of approximately 32,986 is located in South Central Virginia on the Appomattox River near its confluence with the James and just 22 miles south of Richmond. It is served by two major interstate highways, I-85 and I-95. Washington, D.C. is just over two hours north via I-95.

2 THE SCHOOLS The Petersburg School Division is currently comprised of four elementary schools (K-5), one middle school (6-7), one junior high school (8-9), one high school (10-12), one early childhood education center, and one alternative school, and serves approximately 4,160 students. In the school year, the division employed 754 persons, 324 of whom are teachers. Northumberland County Public Schools (VA) The School Board of Northumberland County Public Schools invites applications and nominations for the position of Superintendent. The anticipated date of hire is August 1, Northumberland County Public Schools is a rural school division with a K-12 enrollment of 1,400 students. There is one elementary school (it is a title I school), and a newly opened combined middle school/high school complex housing approximately 750 students. A regional technical school serves five school divisions. The county is bordered on two sides by the Chesapeake Bay and the Potomac River and has 424 miles of waterfront. The primary source of income for our residents is fishing and farming with a number of small businesses to support the residents. Because of the amount of waterfront property, approximately 1/3 of our population of close to 12,000 are retirees. Our student population is evenly divided between African Americans and Caucasians with about half of our student population on free or reduced lunch. The county is located about 120 miles southeast of Washington, DC, 75 miles northeast of Richmond, VA and 100 miles north of Virginia Beach, VA. The county has a population of about 13,000 spread throughout its rural areas, communities and three incorporated towns of Plymouth (the county seat), Roper, and Creswell. The school system includes five schools with approximately 1,800 students in prekindergarten through twelfth grade. 4 Lorain County Joint Vocational School District (OH) The Lorain County JVSD is located in the southern part of Lorain County in Oberlin, Ohio. Oberlin is 32 miles southwest of Cleveland, offering easy access to the Ohio Turnpike and Interstate 90. Oberlin offers the best features of a small town, with the amenities of Oberlin College, one of the nation s leading liberal arts colleges. The Lorain County JVSD provides career technical training for both the high school and adult populations of Lorain County. The JVSD serves high school students from 13 school districts. The high school annually serves more than 1,000 students on campus. In addition, the JVSD provides satellite programs for an additional 700 students in 13 associate school districts. The Adult Career Center annually serves approximately 4,000 adults from all cities in Lorain County. The Board of Education is seeking a candidate with high moral values who is self-motivated and proactive in their leadership approach, is passionate about education and students, and can think outside the box in order to lead Sapulpa Public Schools to a level of prominence in our state. The successful candidate will need to be active in civic groups and be very community oriented.
