4 Meet the Professionals LARRY E. WACHTEL First Vice President-Wealth Management Financial Advisor Larry has advised individuals and business owners here in Palm Beach County for over 20 years. He has extensive knowledge of Separately Managed Accounts and has a thorough understanding of these money managers investment strategies. Larry also focuses on working with foundations and corporate retirement plans. In these situations, Larry works side by side with the fiduciaries and trustees to help them feel confident that the investment policies of their entity are being upheld. Larry is a Palm Beach County native and currently resides in Boca Raton with his wife Nanci, and their two daughters, Alexandria and Logan. He enjoys playing tennis, sport fishing, and spending time on his boat. Larry has been a corporate chairperson for the United Way and involved in several local charities helping underprivileged children. BARRY M. DERSHAW First Vice President-Wealth Management Financial Advisor Barry has established his practice on retirement planning with a focus on tax-free and tax deferred investments. By leveraging his knowledge in these areas, Barry crafts retirement income plans that can help his clients maintain the standard of living that they enjoyed pre-retirement. Barry is originally from Philadelphia and now resides in Boca Raton with his wife Nancy. Together, they have three wonderful children and four grandchildren. 5 BARRY F. MANKO, CFP First Vice President-Wealth Management Financial Advisor Barry focuses his efforts on fixed income, estate planning, and options strategies. His practice also involves restricted stock and hedging concentrated stock positions. Barry has achieved the designation of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER which requires extensive education in the areas of Estate Planning, Financial Planning, Retirement Planning, Income Tax Planning, and Investment Planning. Barry is originally from Woodbury, New York. He currently resides in Boca Raton with his wife, Renee, and their two children, Oliver and Grace. Barry is a watch enthusiast that also enjoys traveling. His community involvement has been with the United Way and multiple breast cancer related charities. RYAN J. WARD, CFP Financial Advisor Financial Planning Associate Ryan is responsible for portfolio analysis, mutual fund and equity research, and personal financial planning. Additionally, Ryan has achieved the designation of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER which requires extensive education in the areas of Estate Planning, Financial Planning, Retirement Planning, Income Tax Planning, and Investment Planning. Ryan is originally from Miami, Florida and currently resides in Boca Raton. 6 ROBERT F. MAHER Relationship Manager Financial Planning Associate A former Operations Manager, Robert transitioned to his current role in 1998 to have more client interaction. Robert holds a series 7 and series 63 license, and has worked extensively with executive compensation and stock options. Outside of MorganStanley SmithBarney, Robert donates his time teaching CCD at Holy Spirit Catholic church, acting as a Civilian Police Advisor for the Town of Lantana Police Department, and is the acting Finance Chair for the Gulfstream Council Explorer Law Enforcement Program. 6/MORGAN STANLEY SMITH BARNEY

7 Making Plans: We Will Do Them Together Smart planning starts with asking the appropriate questions and knowing where to find the answers. We know that reaching your goals requires a sound financial plan one you ll stick to when short-term worries and temptations threaten to cloud your judgment. We ll begin the planning process with a discussion of your goals and concerns. What do you want to do with your money? What do you want to have? What do you want to give to others? And what could stand in your way? Once we understand the answers to these questions, we ll create a complimentary, written comprehensive plan that can include the following components: Net worth analysis Every comprehensive plan starts with a thorough inventory of your assets and liabilities to help us assess your net worth, now and over time. The goal is to get all of your assets working together toward achieving your goals. Retirement analysis Your plan will identify how much you may to have at retirement, and whether it will be enough to support you. We ll detail your sources of income and specify how much you ll need to save to overcome any projected shortfall. If you re retiring or changing jobs, your plan will include strategies for preserving the tax-deferred status of your company retirement plan. Asset allocation We will include a recommended investment strategy based on your goals, risk tolerance and time horizon. Education funding As part of the planning process, we ll ask about any education funding needs you may have for children or grandchildren. Your plan will estimate the future cost of education, provide a savings recommendation, and show the potential growth of various savings vehicles, including 529 College Savings Plans. Insurance If you have a family, you need to ensure that they ll be able to maintain their lifestyle in case something happens to you. We ll help you determine an appropriate level of insurance coverage and review your life, disability and long-term care policies. Equity compensation If you work for a publicly traded company, much of your compensation may be in the form of stock options and restricted stock. In your plan, we ll show you the potential gains and tax consequences associated with exercising options and selling company stock. Estate planning Based on the current and projected value of your assets, we ll estimate the amount of estate taxes your heirs may have to pay. We will work with your tax and legal experts to include strategies aimed at reducing those taxes, such as lifetime gifting, the proper titling of assets, and trusts. In creating your personal comprehensive plan, we will work to help identify your critical financial goals and establish a framework for pursuing them.
