The theories and concepts that define the content of the income statement, statement of retained earnings, and the balance sheet are studied in detail. Emphasis is placed on the theory and practice related to the accounting for asset accounts.) Intermediate Accounting II ACCT 442 (This course is an intensive study of financial accounting. This course is a continuation of Accounting 441. It emphasizes theories and practices related to the accounting for liabilities, stockholders equity and corporations, dilutive securities, earnings per share, revenue recognition, taxes, pensions, leases, accounting changes, and the statement of cash flows. ) Advanced Managerial Accounting ACCT 863 (The course provides an examination of the control and decision-making methodologies used by management accountants in solving strategic problems for business. Lean Six-Sigma Creative Inquiry ACCT 299 (Independent Study course for undergraduates in coordination with Sonoco and Bank of America. The students complete course work dealing with Lean Six-Sigma techniques. Then work with Sonoco or Bank of America to complete a project that generates at least $50,000 of additional revenues or cost savings. The students earn their Six-Sigma Green Belt professional certification.
