A student's final semester average will be lowered by 5 points for each class they are absent. Coming to class late, counts the same as an absent, in a computer lab, you must be ready to take notes, quizzes, and start promptly. There will be no makeup exams or quizzes. Call instructor to discuss any possible conflicts you might run into before the exam (one week before the exam). There will be no makeup exams. Plan to make arrangements before the exam is scheduled to take the exam early. No exams will be administered after the scheduled exams. Mini-Quizzes - are unannounced and require attendance to participate. These quiz grades are accumulated and will reward the student in perfect attendance. The announced Quiz that is worth 10% of overall grade, listed on the agenda, is not part of these mini-quizzes, but instead a quiz before the mid-term test.
4 Homework: College Disability Policy Statement: Disability Statement: and Technology Guidelines: Due dates will be established in class the day the projects are assigned. Your projects and assignments will be collected at the beginning of the class period it is due. If necessary, homework may be handed in late, however, late projects and assignments will only receive half credit. Most of your homework assignments will be graded by viewing your pages from your class web site. Students with documented disabilities may be entitled to specific accommodations. SUNY Brockport's Office for students with Disabilities makes this determination. Please contact the Office for Students with Disabilities at (585) or to inquire about obtaining an official letter to the course instructor detailing approved accommodations. The student is responsible for providing the course instructor with the official letter. Faculty and staff work as a team with the Office for Students with Disabilities to meet the needs of students with disabilities. I would appreciate hearing from anyone in this class who has a special need which may be the result of a disability. I am reasonably sure we can work out whatever arrangement is necessary, be it special seating, testing or other accommodations. See me after class, as soon as possible. SUNY does not allow any misuse of its system. A student should not send any homework, project or test files to other students. Any student caught plagiarizing work from any source (Internet, or the library or any other source) will receive a failing grade for the entire semester. Plagiarism is using others' words or ideas, or programming code and claiming them as your own. Plagiarism will not be condoned and will result in a failing grade for the course. Cheating on an exam will be treated similarly. Also, misuse of the mail system, Internet or any files on the UNIX network or the PC will result in a failing grade being given for the course. Emergency Preparedness on campus and in class: Please visit this link.
