3 SR Lite PC requirements Computer: PC-AT compatible machine CPU: 200-MHz Pentium or higher (350-MHz Pentium II or higher recommended) Main memory: 64MB minimum (128MB or more recommended) Hard disk: Program: 200MB Document storage:500mb Monitor: 800x600 pixels or better, 64,000 colors or more recommended

4 SR Lite Restrictions on installing and running ScanRouter V2 Lite To install ScanRouter V2 Lite on Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000,Windows Server 2003, or Windows XP, administrator authority is required. Note: Administrator authority indicates an authority of a user who belongs to the Administrators group If your user account has no password, you cannot install or run ScanRouter V2 Lite on Windows XP

5 SR Installation When installing Scan Router Lite V2 you have 3 options for Start Mode Launch from Program Folder Launch at Start Up Run in Service Run in service mode, you lose the ability to map to drives option

6 Restrictionscontinued Do not install this software on a computer that is acting as a domain controller or a backup domain controller in a Windows NT4.0/Windows 2000/Windows Server 2003 network Do not install scan router v2 on mail, or file Do not install scan router v2 on mail, or file servers

7 SR Lite Create a user for scan router lite and make sure the user is a member of the Administrator group Log on as that user and install SR lite SR lite can be administered at the delivery server or remotely by the Admin utility The admin utility is part of the Scan Router lite download Can also be downloaded separately from the same website

8 SR Lite AdministratorUtility ScanRouter V2 Administration Utility is a tool for setting, managing, and maintaining a delivery server ScanRouter V2 Professional ScanRouter Enterprise ScanRouter V2 Lite By using a network, data of documents that are scanned, received by fax, and exported from DeskTopBinder V2 and Web Document Viewer are delivered via a delivery server to specified destination points

9 SR Lite V2 Admin Utility With ScanRouter V2 Administration Utility, you can set the way a document is processed for each destination differently, or make settings for a delivery server ScanRouter V2 Administration Utility is installed on a delivery server In addition, it can be installed alone on client computers for the remote access use With ScanRouter V2 Administration Utility, the following operations are available: Making delivery server environment settings Adding network devices for delivery Making delivery function settings Making destination points settings Log Administration Maintenance Suspension and resumption of delivery server service

11 SR Lite Note1- For users using Windows XP SP2 and Windows Server 2003 SP1 ScanRouter uses the FTP protocol in 2 situations When scanned data is transferred from the MFP to the ScanRouter server When the destination list is uploaded from the ScanRouter server to the MFP To facilitate these 2 situations, FTP port 3670 has to be added manually to the Windows Firewall Exceptions list

12 SR Lite Go Start Menu > Control Panel > Windows Firewall > Exceptions tab > Add Port Note2 Windows Server 2003 R2 is not supported

13 SR Lite Windows Server 2003 update for ScanRouter and DeskTopBinder As of March 2004, all DeskTopBinder and ScanRouter products are compatible with Microsoft Windows Server If you have one the following versions (or later) of software you are already compatible with Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and no further action is required: DeskTopBinder V2 Lite Version ScanRouter V2 Lite Version ScanRouter V2 Professional Version ScanRouter Enterprise Version DeskTopBinder V2 Professional Version ScanRouter Document Server Version

14 MicrosoftScanRouter Alert!!! Symptom ScanRouter V2 doesn't connect to mapped drives of the Netware server after installing the MS Windows Security Patch #MS Cause Microsoft said that this is a bug in the Widows Security Patch MS Countermeasure The Windows Security Patch MS includes MS and fixes this bug. Please install MS on the ScanRouter PC to fix the bug. You can download this from following URL. hnet/security/bulletin/ms asp

15 Remarks! If a previous version of ScanRouter is installed, ScanRouter V2 Lite will overwrite ScanRouter If ScanRouter Professional is installed, ScanRouter V2 Lite cannot be installed. At least 500 MB of free disk space is required

16 Hardware Setup MFP configuration Turn the delivery option ON. (B004, B027 B065, G060 CMF) RA2K models, this is not necessary ScanRouter V2 Administration Utility Set the Aficio as the I/O device (On the Server) Server menu Select I/O Device Server menu Select I/O Device Confirm the server s IP address on the MFP Note: This should be the IP address of the computer running ScanRouter V2 Lite.

17 System Maintenance2 System Recover It is possible to recover damage data in the Address list or document information. Not all information will be recovered. Do not use the recover function unless absolutely necessary. Restoring to Installation Defaults Returns the server s settings to their default values the way they were immediately after installation. All information about registered users and all saved documents are deleted.

18 SR Lite V2 Novell shared drive problem with Scan Router Confirm latest Novell client is installed i.e. ver. 4.8 for W2K Match Novell login account to Microsoft login account Scan to SR v2 is blank Perform a Memory All Clear for the Scanner Mode SP then reenter the IP address and turn on the Delivery Option in User Tools Replace BICU PCB on the MFP

19 SR Lite V2 Unable to update destination list on MFP Reboot the SR server Confirm the printer/scanner SD card is in the proper slot You may still be able to print and twain scan, even with the SD card in the wrong slot However, the address book/destination list will not update on the MFP When un-installing Scan Router, always remove the IO device prior to uninstalling Scan Router Map drives with XP and scan router Not supported

20 SR Lite V2 Error "No response from device" when trying to connect to the I/O device The device will respond to a ping command, you can browse to the NIC using a web browser and all other network settings of the device are correct Add the I/O device in to DNS using its printer name found on the printer configuration page If that s not possible, you may need to edit the host file See attachment for details

21 SR Lite V2 Images are shrunk (reduced) by about ¼ inch when an image is scanned and then reprinted using Adobe Acrobat If the "shrink oversize pages to paper size" box is selected the image will be reduced about 1/4 inch to fit the entire image onto the page To prevent the reduction when printing is selected, uncheck the "shrink oversize pages to paper size" box found on the right hand side of the print screen under Copies and adjustments See attachment for screen shot
