The project is being carried out through the use of a variety of methodologies under the service design umbrella, a holistic, co-creative, and user-centered approach to understanding customer behavior for the creation or refining of services. Service design was used for this project due to the scope and the need for flexibility when assessing space usage as well as service delivery. This project is current and ongoing. EXPERIENCE Instructor Library Juice Academy 9/ Present Taught: Service Design: Towards a Holistic Assessment of Library Services (9/7-10/2/2015) Taught: Service Design: Towards a Holistic Assessment of Library Services (4/4-4/29/2016) Link: In this 4-week course, students will explore the service design methodology as a relevant method for service assessment and creation in a library environment. They will discuss the various tools libraries and librarians can use to implement a service design approach to assessment. Students from all types of libraries will learn from presentations, articles, hands-on exercises, discussions, and visual examples. 2 Developed vision and strategic plan to optimize library s web presence (including marketing library resources, creating a more user-friendly interface, and related mobile site) Oversaw website redesign (includes: usability testing, prototyping, card sorting, and wireframing) Coordinated content migration to LibGuides Created first mobile interface Serving as Chair, Library Usability Group Web Services/Electronic Resources Librarian 6/2009-5/2012 Sonoma State University Library, Rohnert Park, CA Managed library website (includes working content owners) and electronic resources. Ensured electronic resources are reliably accessible. Managed content creation for the Library website. Maintained branding scheme across eight different software packages and platforms. Trained library staff as new web tools are introduced. Performed library instruction and reference, in-person and virtual. Performed liaison duties (including collection development, library instruction, and personal reference) for eight campus departments. Participated in campus committee groups. Collaborated with librarians on various web-related projects. Managed library web developer and OPAC manager. As library faculty chair, created faculty agendas to drive the library forward in the delivery of services.
