3 3 Overview Mail Exporter Pro is an easy to use and high performance utility to export your Apple Mail data into Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2011, Microsoft Entourage Archive and common standard formats [MBOX (.mbox) or EML (.eml)] so that it can be migrated to Mircsoft Outlook (for Mac) 2011, Microsoft Entourage 2004/2008, Mozilla Thunderbird, Postbox or any other software application which supports import from these formats on variety of platforms. Some salient features of Mail Exporter Pro are: 1. Easy to use Wizard interface. We have carefully designed its user interface to ensure that you find it simple and effectively easy to use. Just follow self-explanatory wizard screens and get it done! 2. Can handle multiple sources. Whether you have Apple Mail configured with your address or your Apple Mail database backed up on a disk, Mail Exporter Pro will process it on your choice. It can also process Apple Mail Archives which you may have exported earlier. 3. Export Apple Mail to Outlook for Mac 2011 or Entourage. Export your Apple Mail to Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2011 or Microsoft Entourage in few easy steps. It is completely hassle free and saves you a lot of time in migrating from Apple Mail to Outlook or Entourage. Your folder hierarchy and attachments are preserved. Unicode data ( content in any language) is also preserved. What else? Mail Exporter Pro is able to automatically import your Apple Mail data into Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2011 (automatic import functionality works with Outlook or later). But Mail Exporter Pro can correctly handle multilevel or nested emlxpart attachments. It can also detect corrupt s and un-cached attachments and produces a detailed log report for your valuable s. 5. 4 4 Migrating Apple Mail to Outlook for Mac 2011 Launch Mail Exporter Pro wizard and run through it. Remember to choose Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2011 or Entourage option in target selection dialog. When you click Next button, next dialog appears and asks if you want to automatically import your s into Outlook 2011 (This functionality works with Outlook version or later). If yes then just follow onscreen wizard. But if your have older version of Outlook or Microsoft Entourage then you may choose not to import the converted s automatically. Here you can choose the option Save Microsoft Entourage Archive (.rge) and save the converted archive file (.rge) file on disk. Once you have finished exporting.rge file, please follow these steps: 1) Launch Outlook 2011 on your Mac. Choose Menu File Import. 2) Select option Entourage information from an archive or earlier version in import dialog. Click on small Next (triangle at right bottom corner of the dialog.)

5 3) Choose the option Entourage Archive (.rge) and click Next ( Triangle button at right bottom corner) 5 4) Select the archive (.rge) file in file open selection dialog and click Import. Wait for the import process to finish. Imported s can be located in left pane in Oulook s Main Window (as shown in following figure.) And you are done!

6 6 Migrating Apple Mail to Thunderbird (Mac or Windows version). Thunderbird already supports import from Apple Mail but we have noticed that this functionality does not work sometimes. You may also plan to migrate from Mac Apple Mail to Thunderbird (Windows version). So Mail Exporter Pro provides a more reliable way to migrate your s from Apple Mail to Thunderbird. Run through Mail Exporter Pro wizard and remember to choose EML (*.eml) Files option in target selection dialog. Click Next and create a new output folder on your desktop in folder selection dialog. Choose it as output folder and wait till the export process finishes. If you want to import it on another Mac of Windows computer then copy the output folder to your destination Machine. Now launch Thunderbird on your target machine and follow these steps (same for Mac as well as Windows) 1) Go to Thunderbird menu Tools Add-ons. Search for ImportExportTools and click Install button. After installation of this tool, please restart Thunderbird. Following figure is for illustration purpose. There may be some other version of ImportExportTools available on web. That would also work same.

7 7 2) Now click on Local Folders in folder view and right click (ctrl + click) on it. Select New Folder and provide name (say Apple Mail Import) for new folder. 3) Right click on your newly created folder and choose context menu option Import/Export Import all messages from a directory also from its subdirectories as show in following figure. 4) Select the output folder, which contains exported eml files from Mail Exporter Pro. Just select the folder root and don t go deeper in folder hierarchy. Click open. Thunderbird starts importing your Eml files along with the folder hierarchy. You can monitor the import progress in Thunderbird s status bar as shown in following figure.

8 5) You can locate imported in left side pane of Thunderbird. Done! 8
