15 Tommy Sutton came in to relieve starting pitcher Dan Quackenbush in the top of the sixth inning with runners on first and third with no outs. Sutton struck out two of the three batters he faced to get Southeastern out of a big jam and earn the save for the Fire. Sutton was named Tournament MVP as he went 1-0 over nine innings with a save, allowing no runs and three hits while striking out 10 batters. Ronnie Hedrick went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI for the Fire while Will Gonzalez went 1-for- 1 with an RBI and two walks. Dan Quackenbush got the win on the mound for the Fire as he pitched five strong innings, allowing just one run. Southeastern (45-17) repeated as the NCCAA II National Champion, going 8-0 in the national tournament the past two seasons. Toccoa Falls pitcher Jonathan Engel pitched a great game to keep the Eagles close throughout. Engel pitched six innings, allowing just two runs on five hits while striking out four Fire batters. Jeff Crosby went 2-for-3 while Adam Ivester went 1-for-3 with a double for Toccoa Falls.
