3 Our Proud History On January 17th, 1990, a small group of young men assembled to discuss the formation of a new Georgia Tech fraternity. They identified two International fraternities not represented at Tech at the time. Both were invited to submit proposals and make presentations. After considerable discussion, Delta Chi became the clear choice. Our highly motivated Founders progressed quickly, fulfilling the many stringent requirements in order to become a chapter in just 13 months. We were chartered as the Georgia Tech chapter of the Delta Chi Fraternity on May 11th, Hard work and an aggressive savings plan enabled us to purchase our first house in 1997, at 170 5th St. Our next major milestone was the construction of the 176 5th St. house in 2005, giving us a solid campus footprint, one that has served our chapter well for the last ten years. We have been able to build continually on our Founders successes. The chapter has won 18 Delta Chi President s Cups and was the first fraternity chapter in North America to be awarded three NIC Awards of Distinction. Added to that list are the numerous Georgia Tech IFC awards received for Scholarship, Homecoming, Philanthropy, Campus Leadership and Involvement, and the coveted Dean Dull award in 2015 for best overall fraternity performance and achievement. It is clear that we continue to uphold the ideals of our Founders. It is these principles that make Delta Chi the fraternity of choice among outstanding young men at Georgia Tech. It s a small sacrifice on my part relative to all that Delta Chi alumni from other schools have given to this Chapter over the years. Without their support and involvement so much of the Chapter s success would never have happened. Michael Boudreau 93 White Carnation Society Donor

5 Our Need Our chapter s consistent growth and continued hard work have established our chapter as the most decorated of Delta Chi s 125 chapters in the last 20 years. It s essential that we meet the demands of that growth with additional modern and competitive housing. Our two buildings together house 33 young men but a waiting list with over 30 names means our needs cannot be met today. Our 100-man chapter must have an improved and enlarged facility for us to reestablish our highly competitive housing position on campus. The Development team, along with undergraduate leaders, determined that the 170 5th St. building must be replaced with new commercial-grade, state-of-the-art construction in order to meet our demands for the coming decades. The new facility will be joined with our current 176 house to create a single enlarged, dramatic and lasting presence for us on the 5th street corridor. Please join our list of generous donors and support this important and crucial project. Our goal is $750, and we are thrilled with our progress so far, having met well over 50% of our fund raising goal. A special thank-you and recognition goes to our current undergraduate membership which has collectively pledged nearly $100, We are proud to unveil the details of the new construction in this brochure. Please review and study this amazing design and join our efforts today to make this all possible! I hope to give more than my initial pledge after meeting the current brothers at Georgia Tech. Our chapter s continued commitment to academics, intramural competition, charity work, and campus leadership is truly impressive. This award winning Chapter deserves a first class facility. I ll do everything in my power to make that happen! Brian Crawford 92 Martlet Society Donor
6 Our Construction Plans Front View Rear View In 1990, I was asked to join the Delta Chi at Georgia Tech Housing Corporation. In 25 years, the chapter has grown continually and achieved far more than I believed possible. As an architect, I want my projects to do more than their intended function; I want the architecture to reflect the positive contributions of this chapter and to become the symbol identifiable with Delta Chi at Georgia Tech. This expansion will become that brand the rallying point for our Brothers the image the Institute will associate with our members and the public identity within the campus community. It s an honor to be associated with the young men and alumni of this chapter and to be the architect for what will become our Brotherhood s campus trademark. 10 How to Make A Gift Campaign Goal: $750,000 Pledges: We ask that each alumnus determine the best pledge he can make over five years when considering his gift to the campaign. Gifts may be paid all at once or over a five year period, to help you make the best gift possible. Matching Gifts: If your company has a matching gifts program, your pledge through the Delta Chi Educational Foundation can be matched; matching companies will not give to the House Corporation. As the donor, you will receive full credit for both your gift and your company s matching gift. Credit Card: Pledges can be paid automatically through credit card based on the schedule provided on your pledge form. All major credit cards are accepted (Visa, Master Card, Discover, American Express). Stock Gifts: You may utilize appreciated stock to fulfill your campaign pledge commitment. Gifts-in-Kind: Gifts-in-kind will be reviewed and evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the Campaign Steering Committee. Leave A Legacy You have the opportunity to Leave a Legacy by giving back to an experience that helped shape your life and help ensure the same experience for future generations of Delta Chi s. We invite you to include Delta Chi in your estate plans.
