3 INTRODUCTION 0. INSTALLATION TROUBLESHOOTING Please make sure the following issues are not present in the computers or networks where you are planning to install the CTB Secure Testing App. Corrupt installer Not having sufficient rights to install Not agreeing to the EULA Not enough free disk space MD/signature not matching Incorrect OS version Running programs that could prevent installation Anti-virus false positive Visual Studio Runtime or other required third party libraries are not installed Installation Guide McGraw Hill Education

4 INSTALLATION AND LAUNCH. ADMIN PRIVILEGES REQUIRED WHEN INSTALLING AND UNINSTALLING BUT NO SPECIAL PRIVILEGES REQUIRED TO RUN MAC Download the Mac installer from o The Volume Name of the.dmg when mounted is McGraw-Hill Education. Launching the file will open a window with EULA RTF in the lower left corner. Drag CTB Secure Testing App to the Applications folder; the Application File Name is CTB Secure Testing App application file... App Launch Double click on CTB Secure Testing App to launch the app The Splash Screen displays the McGraw-Hill Logo x center screen. o A sanity check for Network, Proxy and external applications is performed while the Splash Screen is visible. o If there are any errors during the sanity check, an error message will be displayed and the Secure Testing App will exit. If the sanity check passes, the Splash Screen closes and the Launch Screen appears... Silent Install Go to path where the CTB Secure Testing App.dmg file resides: hdiutil mount "CTB Secure Testing App.dmg" cd "/Volumes/McGraw-Hill Education" sudo cp -R "CTB Secure Testing App.app" /Applications Change back to HDD Volume: diskutil unmount "McGraw-Hill Education".. Error Messages in Sanity Check -No Network Connection Found. - CTB Secure Testing App has detected a proxy error. Please configure the proxy settings before launching the app again. - CTB Secure Testing App ended because of an installation error. 5 WINDOWS Download the windows installer from: o When launched, the MSI file starts the installation process and guides the user through the installation showing standard Windows screens. The CTB Secure Testing App will create a folder named McGraw Hill Education in Program Files. Once the installation is complete the installer should have a McGraw Hill icon on the desktop... App Launch When the CTB Secure Testing App is launched, it will display the Splash Screen while the app is being loaded. Splash Screen is the logo in the center of screen. o The app will perform sanity checks while the Splash Screen is displayed. o If the network is not present, it will exit cleanly while displaying an error message. If sanity checks pass, the Launch Screen will appear... Silent Install msiexec /i <path location of msi file> /quiet /i can be substituted for /a for administrative option. /x instead of /i can be utilized to uninstall the application... Error Messages in Sanity Check - No Network Connection Found. - CTB Secure Testing App has detected a proxy error. Please configure the proxy settings before launching the app again. - CTB Secure Testing App ended because of an installation error. Please re-install the application using administrator privileges before launching it again.. CHROMEOS.. Installation Login to the Chromebook. Insure the Chromebook is connected to the internet. 6 0 0 0 Remove prior version(s) of CTB Secure Testing App (use the x button to remove any old versions of the CTB Secure Testing App). Add the new application by adding the app ID cpembebmpcighaaoecnheikcjfjldbdn and clicking the Add button. Sign out of the Chromebook. Make sure Chromebook is connected to the Internet... App Launch Don't log in - On the bottom left area of the Login screen there is a Shutdown button followed by an Apps button. Click on the Apps button and select CTB Secure Testing App Launch the application; you will be prompted to enter a product activation code. To activate this device for a statewide assessment, enter the Activation Code. Once your device is activated, you will not need to enter this code again and will proceed directly to the Login page. Activation code [text box] [Submit] [Exit] Enter the Indiana state-specific product access code. For Indiana: If the access code is correct, the TDC Login page will open. If the activation code is incorrect, the following message is displayed, "This access code is not correct. Please check the Administrator's Guide and try again or contact the CTB HelpDesk. The CTB Secure Testing App will run a sanity check which is transparent, except: a. If there are errors found or there is no network. In this case, error message will be displayed. b. If sanity check passes, the CTB Secure testing App will display the launch screen... Auto-Launch Login as an Admin. Settings. Manage Extensions. Manage Kiosk. Add the CTB Secure Testing App there. 8 HOW TO CHECK TDC LOGIN TO TEST INSTALLATION The following login credentials are for test purposes only. When the TDC login appears, use the following test login credentials. o User Name: Test o Password: Test o Access Code: Indiana These credentials are not to be used for the January Statewide Readiness Test.
