A Community s Response to an Epidemic Find YOUR Place at Jordan s Place Teen Center
In Memory of Jordan C. Lunsford Jordan s Place is named after Jordan Lunsford, whose tragic loss at the young age of 17yrs, set his parents Kelli and Sheldon Clodfelter on a mission. A mission to create awareness and rid Warren County of the drug Jordan overdosed on, Heroin. As the town quickly rallied around Jordan s family, many more people came forward with their stories about the loss of their own family members due to Heroin, as well as the many other challenges facing youth today.
Jordan s Place was inspired by the families of ALL the youth who were taken much too soon from this earth and is dedicated to their memories. Jordan s Place is a community supported facility, filled with billiards, ping pong, foosball, snack bar, lounge, study area, etc., and is a safe place for youth to socialize in a supervised environment. Jordan s Place is a Non-Profit, Missouri Corporation run by all volunteers. Kelli & Sheldon Clodfelter (Jordan s Parents)
Mission Statement Jordan s Place is a non-profit organization serving Warren County, which offers a community gathering facility directed at providing positive alternative activities for area youth. Our mission is to end substance abuse, bullying, depression, stress/anxiety, suicide, violence, teen pregnancy and the many other challenges facing youth today.
Jordan s Place believes in changing individual, institutional and societal beliefs, attitudes and behaviors that perpetuate these issues. We provide comprehensive and innovative programs that serve area youth and their families. Our facility empowers youth to envision and navigate a course for a rewarding future characterized by achievement, independent thought, and social responsibility through education, and mentoring. Jordan s Place facilities positive support for youth and their choice to remain free from substance abuse, and other negatives influencing their current and future opportunities.

Dedicated to our daughter/sister Nicky Vigna- Not a second of any day goes by we don t miss you. Love Dad, Mom and Brittney www. facebook.com/stopheroin
2014 St. Charles County had 30 REPORTED Heroin Overdose DEATHS That is the highest number of DEATHS in the past Ten Years REPORTED DEATHS SO FAR Not all deaths this year have been recorded! We will surpass last year s deaths.
Some of the Warning Signs Missing Money and valuables in your home Spoons from Utensil drawer missing Bruises and open sores on skin Very small pupils- agitated behavior- chaotic behavior Flu like symptoms- sweats, throwing up-excessive sleeping Excessive Mileage on your car Long sleeve shirts all the time- nodding off- car accidents Disconnect from family activities- from former friends and activities
WHAT CAN I DO IF I SUSPECT MY CHILD IS USING HEROIN? First and Foremost: Protect Yourself 1. Remove all valuables from your home 2. Do not give them cash for anything 3. If you provide them with a car- discontinue 4. Seek counseling for yourself (Nar-Anon) 5. Get Life Insurance- Funerals are not Free 6. Get Health Insurance for them- Rehab availability without Insurance is extremely limited. 7. Always go with your gut feeling- if it feels wrong, it is. 8. Do not ever underestimate the power heroin has over your child. Heroin is an insatiable addiction- not using is not an option. Withdrawal symptoms will begin within hours. 9. Seek out Rehab if your child is ready- if not wait for them. 10.Demand help from your healthcare providers and law officials 11. NEVER, NEVER GIVE UP HOPE HOLD ON TIGHT BECAUSE YOU ARE IN FOR THE FIGHT OF YOU AND YOUR CHILD S LIFE
WHAT DOES SOMEONE WHO USES HEROIN LOOK LIKE?

COMMUNITY EDUCATION BECAME THE FOCUS. GET TO THE KIDS BEFORE THEY BEGAN USING DRUGS.
The SILENCE associated with the STIGMA of HEROIN had to STOP! If Heroin could silently creep into our home, it can creep into yours. We wanted everyone to know what we never knew- Heroin is HERE. It is being sold in our community and marketed to our kids. May 21, 2013 Walking For Wellness-Stop Heroin hosted our first awareness walk.
