3 Detox from alcohol or drugs If you are a very heavy drinker you may be in serious need of a detox program. You will want to contact an addiction doctor or attend a detox program. Do not start this program if you feel your detox needs supervision. Many people have found safe ways to detox from drugs or alcohol and are very aware of the risks. While this program will assist you during that process it is advised that you understand the detox process. Alcohol has a serious danger for heavy drinkers. Delirium Tremens can happen in the 3rd day of detox and can cause seizures and even death. This program is a relapse prevention program. It is not a detox program and is not appropriate for someone who is currently using alcohol or drugs.
