1 Sustainable Water Management Workshop Exchange of Industry Best Practices 18 June 2015 Singapore Background information Concerns on security on water supply, water quality and water scarcity have highlighted sustainable water management as a strategic issue for Singapore and for many companies operating in the region. The variety of tools and approaches helping companies to assess and mitigate water related risks is extensive and diverse. This workshop aims to support companies in understanding how to best integrate the available tools and approaches in their sustainable water management strategies. This workshop will address some of the following questions: Has your company identified its water risks? Do you understand the company s impacts on site? What is the company s response and engagement strategy? PUB is a statutory board under the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources. As water agency, it manages Singapore s water supply, water catchment and used water in an integrated way. 3 Speaker s profiles Mr Joppe Cramwinckel Director Water, World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) Mr Cramwinckel joined the WBCSD in September 2010 to lead the expansion of its Water Programme. The expansion included the establishment of a leadership group of initially 18 WBCSD, currently 29 member companies to support Water Programme activities. Under his leadership a resourced three year work program, focusing on stewardship, value of water, energy, food and water linkages and access to water and sanitation has been developed and is currently being implemented. Before joining the WBCSD, he was Sustainable Development Lead for Shell International Exploration and Production B.V. He joined Shell in 1985 and served as environmental lead in Brunei and Oman. In 2003 he became the Shell Issue Manager for Water. While at Shell, he was the driving force behind the development of the WBCSD Business in the World of Water scenarios. He is member of a number of Advisory Boards/Advisory Councils, among others, the European Water Partnership and the Stockholm World Water Week and is a member of the Supervisory Council of the Water Footprint Network. Mr Damandeep Singh, Director, CDP India Daman has spent over two decades writing and researching on environment and development issues in India. He worked as an independent researcher and journalist primarily on environment and climate change issues, executing projects for ERM UK, Worldwatch Institute, The Climate Group, Bureau of Energy Efficiency and Suzlon. Prior to consultancy work, he was heading Research and Mission Programme Division of the National Geographic Channel in India for five years. He started his career as a journalist and has worked with The Times of India, The Pioneer, Business Standard and The Indian Express. CDP is an international, not-for-profit organization providing a global system for companies and cities to measure, disclose, manage and share vital environmental information. Dr. Paul Bowen Director, Sustainable Operations, The Coca-Cola Company In his role at The Coca-Cola Company, Dr. Paul Bowen leads the environmental sustainability program across the Quality and Technical organizations. He is responsible for delivering on Company commitments in the water and energy/climate spaces, and for embedding environmental sustainability across all Coca-Cola System operations. He serves as a technical expert for developing water reuse with corporate quality standards and as a SME on water and wastewater treatment issues. Prior to his position with The Coca-Cola Company, Paul was an Assistant Professor in the School of Civil Engineering & Environmental Science at the University of Oklahoma and Vice-President and Senior Staff Consultant for Metcalf & Eddy. Paul Bowen is the President-Elect of the Water Environment Federation (WEF), an international organization of water quality professionals headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, USA. A WEF member since 1977, Paul has held multiple leadership and committee roles within WEF. He currently serves as the Vice-Chair of the Committee Leadership Council and has served on several other WEF Technical Committees. Page 3 of 5

4 Mr Sam Tang Regional Commercial Manager, South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand, Dow Water & Process Solutions Sam Tang joined Rohm & Haas in 2008 as the Greater China marketing manager for Ion Exchange Resins. In 2009, he became the Great China marketing manager for Dow Water & Process Solutions responsible for all value chain centers and OMEX System. In 2012, he became the commercial manager for Greater China Process Solutions and sales manager for Central China Water Solutions. One year later, he was named as the regional commercial manager for SEA, ANZ and IBPS and relocated in Singapore in April Sam holds a PhD in Chemistry from Clark University, Worcester, Massachusetts and a Master of Business Administration from Smith Business School, University of Maryland at College Park, Maryland. He has more than 10 years experiences developing shared value creation initiatives with global leading industries from the Oil & Gas, Mining, Power, Pulp & Paper, Food & Beverage and Pharmaceuticals sectors.
