2 Goethe Center for Scientific Computing, Kettenhofweg Frankfurt Frankfurt Detailed Modeling and Simulation of Signal Processing in Neurons Prof. Dr. Gillian Queisser 3 days date: June 2014 max. number of 15 Content: A three day workshop will cover modeling and simulation methods for detailed three dimensional signal processing in neurons. The content ranges from text book material of different models all the way to three dimensional modeling of signal processing in neurons. Special focus will lie on: program days 1 to 3: generating three dimensional neuron morphologies from anatomical reconstructions Credit points: 3 simulating intra cellular processes in three space dimensions and in time multi scale modeling of neuronal processes by linking classical simulators (e.g. NEURON) to 3D biochemical simulations The morning sessions will cover the theoretical part in form of lectures, while in the afternoon students will actively work on implementing models using VRL Studio and the simulation platform ug.
