2 East Africa is categorized by spiritual, physical and other debilitating poverties. This burden of poverty can only be lifted by God, through His Spirit and His people. Working to mobilize design and construction professionals in the fight against poverty, EMI EA is joining together with ministries throughout East Africa in response to a diverse set of needs. Imagine the Gospel transforming a people, a nation The Church as the key force of change. Imagine the end of extreme poverty * in our lifetime. For the last ten years, we ve been strengthening supporting building For over a decade, God has granted EMI East Africa an essential supporting role for ministry partners fulfilling the Great Commission in this region of the world. Nearly 150 projects later, we ve seen His handiwork in thousands of lives transformed: through lifesaving medical care, centers of rescue, hope and restoration, Christ-centered education at all levels and biblical teaching and discipleship training for the next generation of the African Church. As these ministry opportunities increase, so must our capacity to respond. Growing into a culturally and professionally diverse team from around the world, we are in need of more space and more specialized facilities, repositioned in a location that supports even greater strategic investment and partnership in Kingdom work. To accomplish this goal, God has brought us together with another support ministry: Mission Aviation Fellowship. As we commit to this partnership, one of the first exciting steps is to construct and share new joint facilities in Kajjansi, Uganda. Rather, the end of global poverty is the end of a condition plaguing massive segments of humanity, defined as a global extreme poverty rate below 2%. 1. In 2012 MAF flew over 700,000 kilometers from its Uganda base in Kajjansi and carried over 8000 passengers to remote ministry locations in Uganda, South Sudan and eastern DR Congo. With two key supporting ministries in one location, we develop as both a landing place and a launching point to collectively service the greatest needs. Joint facilities will combine nearly 100 personnel into a single strategic location...bringing together pilots, engineers, construction managers, operations, administrative and support teams committed to strengthening one another and the work of our ministry partners Joint facilities will provide the necessary workspace to meet existing and proposed staff growth......lowering overhead costs by 30% through combined efficiencies, and paving the way for new initiatives like an R&D lab for sustainable technologies and a workshop in support of our construction program Joint facilities at Kajjansi Airfield will provide improved access both to and from our ministry partners......positioning us at the hub of international travel into remote regions of East Africa, linking like-minded organizations utilizing MAF or EMI services so together we can accomplish more

4 Providing new opportunities to build into others as we build and design structures. Segawa Yusufu was born into abject poverty in the central region of Uganda. When his father abandoned the family in his early youth, he was taken in by the African Children s Choir, * where he found a Christ-centered education, eventually graduating with a diploma in Civil Engineering. Today Yusufu exemplifies the purpose and the outcome of our design and construction partnerships. He s worked with EMI as a foreman for over five years, constructing a new campus for the EMI-designed African Children s Choir and modeling what it means to be a leader and raise a God-fearing family.
