Dr. Reynolds earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (ME) from Purdue University in Dr. Reynolds was hired to help establish the new ME program at UWF and will hold the title of Program Director. Prior to joining UWF, Dr. Reynolds was a tenured Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at University of Arkansas-Fort Smith since He held the position of Chair of the Engineering Department since Dr. Reynolds has an outstanding teaching record as evidenced by teaching awards, leadership in distance learning (Editor of Distance Learning journal), development of online classes, and knowledge of outcome assessment (ABET evaluator), He has an excellent record of scholarly and creative activities as evidenced by the numerous peer reviewed journal and conference papers he published and his grant proposal activities. His service to his department, university, community and profession is quite evident. Dr. Reynolds performance clearly and easily satisfies ECE and UWF criteria for tenure and promotion to Associate Professor. Tenured ECE faculty were sent ballots to vote on whether or not Dr. Reynolds should be granted tenure upon assuming his position at UWF. The tally of the ballots is as follows: FOR granting tenure: 2 AGAINST granting tenure: 0 Ballots not returned: 1 Based on the ballot results above, and after examining Dr. Reynolds curriculum vitae, I strongly support, and without any reservation, the granting of tenure to Dr. Reynolds.
