29 Tips Quit a program by pressing these keys simultaneously. Note: clicking the red circle on a program (such as Microsoft Word) does not exit a program. In the long run having too many programs active will slow down your computer. You can tell if a program is still active if it has a little light underneath it on the dock. Spotlight can be used to search for anything in your computer. Click on the little magnifying glass at the top right of your screen to access it. 29

31 Try 1st Troubleshoot Printers Computers SmartBoard ipad Elmo Projector Speakers Make sure ALL CABLES are properly plugged in first :) Turn it off Wait 10 seconds Turn it back on Check for paper jams Restart If it is frozen and you cannot restart as usual, leave the power button pressed until it turns off. Wait 10 seconds, then turn it back on. Unplug from computer Restart the computer Then plug it back in Run updates Calibrate the device by clicking the 2 buttons on the SmartBoard simultaneously If frozen, press the sleep button and home button until it shows the apple logo during restart Cannot delete an app Check your restrictions and disable them momentarily Unplug for 10 seconds Then plug it back in Push the Auto button to auto focus. Unplug for 10 seconds, then plug back in Make sure it is not dusty or overheating due to objects nearby prohibiting airflow Make sure it is plugged into the right output on your computer. Turn up the volume on the speakers and on the computer (make sure the computer is not on mute) Press X or Cancel or Stop Then press the go button Delete printer from your computer re-add it using the IP address written on the printer Call HP Provide them with the TPA# located on your printer Press command + alt + esc to force quit applications Have your ICT change the output cable if image appears purple/ blue/green 31
