1 Data Integration Guidelines Thank you for choosing Become Europe as a business partner! The following pages include important information regarding the preparation of your data feed for inclusion within the Become Europe Network. The guidelines set out within this document must be met in order for your products to be successfully published on the Become Europe Portal Network. Ensuring that the product data which you provide is of high quality is one of the keys to success on our Portal Network. 2 In which format must your Database be? Supported formats for your data are: CSV file (.CSV), Text file (.TXT) or an XML file (.XML). The columns must be clearly separated by a single delimiter. Possible delimiters are: tabs (TAB), semicolon (;), comma (,) or pipe ( ). The separator must not be present in other fields, as this may cause unwanted field separation. Please note that the XML formatting rules are different to those for CSV and text files. Please click here to view sample databases in CSV (Tab seperated), TXT (Tab seperated) or as an XML-File. Your complete product data must be supplied in one file. The first row must include column headings. Each following row must only represent one product. Ensure that the product data is correct. For example, the product image, manufacturer and EAN number is correct. Each product must be assigned a unique number (offer-id) which is only ever associated with this product. The same offer-id should never be used for two different products. Please ensure that no HTML coding, such as & and line breaks, are present in your database as they could cause import errors. Your product offers must include all predetermined mandatory fields. (Please see the table on page 3) Your product offer can also contain optional fields. 5 How must you provide your product categories? Your offers will be assigned to Product Categories and matched with the same products already in our system. The more precisely the following instructions are adhered to, the better the price comparison element of our portals function and the better chance customer will find your products. A Product Category (merchant-category field) is usually the navigation path of a shop. This normally contains the elements of main category, subcategory and the specific product category. Details about the product category are vital to classify your listings in the Become Europe Network navigation structure. Become Europe GmbH Page 5/6
6 Important Information The inclusion of your products is as follows: Please enter the link for us to access your data feed (mybecome > Data Integration). We will use this location to access your data and integrate the products. Please note that your data feed should be provided in one, consistent format and must not be changed. The successfully imported data feed will be published online. Please promptly inform us of any alteration to your data feed to avoid delays in updating. You will receive an notification once your store is located on our Portal Network. We wish to thank you for your efforts and look forward to working with you more in the future.
