The "Resize Volume" feature will help you perform three kinds of operations: *Free up some unallocated space by shrinking volume. *Make the unallocated space behind the volume you want to extend by moving volume. *Extend volume enables you to fix low disk space problem, especially for system volume. Step1: Launch Aomei Dynamic Disk Manager. Right click D: volume and select "Resize Volume". 1

3 Step3: Position mouse pointer on D: volume and move it rightwards. Then, click "OK". With this method, the unallocated space has been located behind system volume. Move Volume Step4: Right click C: drive and select "Resize Volume". In the pop-up window, drag the right slider rightwards to extend system volume into the unallocated space. Then, click "OK". 3

5 How to Add Drive to RAID? This powerful feature applies to both striped volume (Software RAID 0) and Software RAID-5 volume. By adding drive to RAID, you can extend RAID volume easily and safely. Note: To add drive to RAID, there must be unused disks available. At the same time, the unallocated space on the disk should be equal or larger than the RAID volume on a single disk. Step1: Launch Aomei Dynamic Disk Manager and click "Add Drive to RAID". Add Drive to RAID Step2: In the pop-up window, click "Next" to follow the wizard. Then choose the RAID volume you want to add drive to and click "Next". 5

6 Select RAID Volume Step3: Select a disk and click "Finish". Select Disk 6

7 Step4: Click "Commit". You can preview the changes or click "View Pending Operations" to confirm what you have done before applying to physical disk. Click Commit How to Remove Drive from RAID? In Disk Management, you cannot remove a drive from the existing RAID array but instead of deleting the entire volume. The wizard can handle striped volume (RAID 0) and RAID-5 volume. After a drive has been removed, the capacity of the RAID array will reduce and the result won t have an effect on other drives. Step1: Launch Aomei Dynamic Disk Manager and click "Remove Drive from RAID" in the left navigation. 7

8 Remove Drive from RAID Step2: In the pop-up window, select the RAID volume from which you want to remove a drive. Then, click "Next". 8

9 Select RAID Volume Step3: In the following window, select the drive you want to remove from RAID volume. Then, click "Finish". Specify Drive Step4: Click "commit". 9

10 Click Commit How to Move Volume Slice? To extend dynamic system volume, there must be some contiguous unallocated space on the same disk. Normally, we can shrink other volume to generate unallocated space, but if other volumes haven t neither available free space to be shrunk. What shall we do? In such case, Move Volume Slice Wizard that enables you to migrate volume slice from one disk to another is very useful. Note: To complete this operation, there must be another empty dynamic disk or some unallocated space which is equal or larger than the volume slice you want to move. Step1: Launch Aomei Dynamic Disk Manager and click "Move Volume Slice Wizard" in the left navigation. 10

11 Move Volume Slice Wizard Step2: In the pop-up window, the descriptions can help you learn more about volume slice and why use the wizard. Then, click "Next" to continue. In the following dialogue box, please select the volume you want to move. 11

12 Select Dynamic Volume Step3: Specify the slices that need to be moved. Then, click "Next". Select Volume Slice 12

13 Step4: Select destination disk where the volume slice will be moved on. Select Destination Disk Step5: After clicking "Finish", you will find the D: volume has been moved form disk 1 to disk 5, and some unallocated space generates on disk 1. Then, click "Commit" to apply the changes to physical disk. 13

14 Click Commit Tips: For striped volume, mirrored volume and RAID-5 volume, you should tick the option: I need to move volume slices from one disk to another disk. 14
