Gaylor, Naughty and Nice Nice 2015 theme for ABC Indiana/Kentucky will be Coming Home. We will continue our focus on engaging members in ABC activities. So if you have been away from participating in ABC, we encourage you to learn about what you have been missing and re-engage, realizing your return on investment in ABC. We will be reminding you of what ABC stands for and how some of the founding members fought for your right to have a free and fair workplace. Naughty BEWARE in 2015: The National Labor Relations Board has stunned the employer community with recent decisions. Your employee handbooks are now a ticking time bomb. To highlight two rulings in December: 1) Ambush elections the amount of time between a union filing a representation petition and an election taking place has been dramatically reduced to as little as 20 days. Implementation is for April. Even more damaging may be the requirement that employers must provide the names, addresses, home addresses and phone numbers of it s employees. 2) Company New rules will require employers to open their company systems to union organizing during non-work hours. This will affect almost every employer in the U.S. that provides a company system. 9 2015 STEP Application is now available on-line Below are a few changes to the 2015 STEP application. 1. New appeals process to STEP for members who may feel that their STEP level has been incorrectly calculated. 2. STEP Diamond/Platinum application fee increase: Diamond ($395 to $435) and Platinum ($195 to $235) 3. STEP application page has now been moved to the front of the application book just inside the cover to streamline the completion process.
