7 District Background Location - CUSD is located in Central California almost in the center between LA and San Francisco Size 38,759 Students Elementary Schools 32 Intermediate Schools 5 High Schools 5 Alternative Education Schools 4 Online Charter School 1 Total of 47 CUSD has three Educational Centers Reagan Educational Center (1 Elementary, 1 Intermediate, 1 High School) Buchanan Educational Center (1 Elementary, 1 Intermediate, 1 High School) Clovis North Educational Center (1 Intermediate, 1 High School) Terry P. Bradley Educational Center will be our next center that will be comprised of: 1 Elementary School 1 Intermediate School 1 High School 7

Currently 2/3 of our schools are 20 years and older. 8
9 Types of Projects Over the past 12 years CUSD has been in a growth period and we have been building 1 to 2 schools a year CUSD new bond is for modernizing our older schools The 2012 bond dollars will be used for approximately 80% modernization and 20% new construction. CUSD s Political Environment Governing Board Consistency Over 110 years of service collectively Issues Facing our Community Our schools are in great condition and our community has a hard time seeing the need for HVAC, data infrastructure, electrical upgrades Unions Central California is not a heavy unionized area CUSD does not have a teacher s union Sustainability CUSD has a simple philosophy on Sustainability.
