The AX3-PPC programmable plant controller, which is a Java based controller/server, is a bundled product consisting of a WEB-300E controller paired with an IO-34-H module that provides 34 points for local control. This controller is specially licensed for up to five (5) remote devices that can be integrated to the controller via Lon, BACnet or Modbus. In total, the AX3-PPC can integrate up to a maximum of 150 points. Product Availability You can now place orders for the new AX3-PPC Programmable Plant Controller. The controller is supported by the WEBs-AX 3.8 software which was released on Mar, 6, 2014 (see Bulletin # for more details on WEBs-AX 3.8 software).

The AX3-PPC controller is designed to optimize control for individual systems. The AX3-PPC controller is a bundled product consisting of a WEB-300E controller paired with an IO-34-H module that provides 34 points for local control. The AX3-PPC has specific license features that limit capacity by points and devices. All other standard features of Niagara are included such as web UI, , alarming, enterprise connectivity etc. The AX3-PPC comes pre-licensed with BACnet, Lon, and Modbus drivers. What capacity limits does the AX3-PPC have? The AX3-PPC has a capacity limit of up to 150 points and cannot be increased. The point limit counts proxy points brought in through driver networks. Niagara refers to these as proxy points. More specifically, points with non null proxy extensions count against the 150 point total. The AX3-PPC can manage up to five remote protocol devices using BACnet, Lon, or Modbus. 4 In addition to the IO-34-H which is included, two IO-16-H and four IO-16-REM-H modules may be added to the standard I/O. These devices will not count against the device and point limits. Third party Lon, BACnet, and Modbus modules can be added as well, but will consume device and point limits. Can I add 3 rd party drivers to the AX3-PPC? While Honeywell does not support 3 rd party drivers, it is possible to add them. Like the BACnet, Modbus, and Lon drivers any 3rd party drivers would be subject to the same device (5) and point (150) limits. Can I add additional option cards to the AX3-PPC? Yes, option cards can be added. However, the capacity of the AX3-PPC and driver support must be considered. For example, the Lon card may be added but the driver is limited to 5 devices. An RS-485 card may be added but can only be used for Modbus or BACnet MSTP. What versions of WEBs-AX support the AX3-PPC? The AX3-PPC requires version WEBs-AX 3.8 or later Does the AX3-PPC have a Java Heap limit? Yes, the Java Heap is limited to 24MB. It is not upgradeable Can I use Spyder or Stryker with this Controller? The license will not include Spyder and Stryker feature, but can be used under one of the networks (BACnet or LON) Can the AX3-PPC be upgraded to a standard WEB-300E? No, the AX3-PPC controller cannot be upgraded to WEB-300E controller Is AX3-PPC controller Niagara 4.0 compatible? Yes, since this is controller is based on WEB-300E, the programmable plant controller is Niagara 4.0 compatible? How is the AX3-PPC controller packaged? The AX3-PPC controller and IO-34 module are shipped together, but in separate packages. Do the five remote protocol devices have to be on the same network? No, you can mix device types on the AX3-PPC (Modbus, BACnet, or Lon as long as you do not exceed five total devices or 150 points.
