3 NON-STOP FUN AT THE GOLF CLUB After lunch the fun starts at de Golf de León ( where we ve prepared afternoon courses together with local students, federated coaches and monitors for the following sports: Golf: initiation and instruction with a PGA professional. Practical courses, competitions and visits to the 18 hole course. Diploma upon completition. Pádel: initiation and instruction in the growing sport of pádel. Practical courses, competitions and a diploma upon completition. Instruction and practice of: football, basketball, tennis and swimming (with a certified lifeguard). After a merienda at the leisure club s cafeteria, enjoy evening activities such as workshops, gymkhanas, games and lots of fun with your monitors and friends. Upon course completion there will be prizes for all participants on campus.

5 About the city The city of Leon was founded around 2,000 years ago and now has a population of 135,000. It boasts great infrustructures, such as parks, intercity trains, bus station, airport, University and hospitals. Located in the north west of the Iberian Peninsula, within the autonomous region of Castilla y León. It is a key stop along the Pilgrim s way, which is one of the principal timehonoured routes to the pilrimage city of Santiago de Compostela and also within good reach of Madrid by road. Leon provides an ideal setting for studying the language and culture. This welcoming and friendly city offers visitors an excellent blend of new and old with its modern districts and Medieval Quarter. The best way to get arount the city is on foot, as it is a beautiful, safe and peaceful place to live. Within the city and province alike, one can enjoy its vast cultural heritage and a rich and varied scenery. Particularly worth seeing in Leon centre are the Cathedral, the museum of modern art (The MUSAC), the concert hall and also the *Barrio Húmedo*, where one can sample the delights of the local cuisine around its famous bars and restaurants. Enjoy the breathtaking surrounding countryside with Europe s largest nature reserve, the majestic Picos de Europa and their historic villages. The weather in summer is generally good: during the day it is sunny, reaching temperatures of 25 degrees celcius, dropping at night to a cool 15. About the University of Leon (ULE) Leon University has one of the most dynamic and prestigious departments in the field of Hispanic Studies. An excellent team of professionals gathered under the direction of Salvador Gutiérrez Ordóñez, member of the Royal Language Academy. 6 Getting ready for the trip How to get ready for the Junior Summer Camp? By getting familiar with the programme, by collecting information about the city of Leon, its climate, the activities, the tours and places you will visit. Preparing Basic Vocabulary: wordlists and usual expressions to use in daily life are a fun way to start with, of course your Tour Director and the Senior Management Team members will always be there to help you with anything you need. Usually, students bring a small gift from their home country to their teaching staff abroad but it is not mandatory. It should not be a high-value gift but something typical from your country and culture. How much pocket money will I need during my language program abroad? Your programme includes all food as well as all materials, sports and activities. Unlike other study programmes there will not any unforseen or hidden costs. Generally speaking, participants in a summer programme spend around 150 euros per week. Specially for shopping!!! What should I bring during my language trip abroad? Pack light! We recommend 2 pieces: one backpack to be used on a daily basis plus one suitcase. When packing, take into consideration that airline companies will only allow 20kgs of personal luggage, so please leave enough room for all the souvenirs and presents you may have to return home with!!!. Don t forget to write your name, address and phone number on your suitcase. Take your most important belongings with you on board (in your backpack): Identity Card and/or Passport, pocket money, electronic devices and chargers, contact lenses with case and cleansing solution (no more than 50ml on board the aircraft), glasses, sunglasses, any valuables, a change of clothes and any necessary medication (you must notify your Tour Director in advance if you need to take medication with you).
