An official guide proposed by the Paris City Council and the Employer s federation for cabarets and discothèques, it is dedicated entirely to nightlife and is perfect for night-owls! Several applications have been created to help you to make the most of the amazing number of things on offer in the capital. The site has a multi-criteria search engine which allows you to select the date, place, arrondissement, music type or even the type of clientele or establishment. Through this, it is possible to find a night out to suit everyone. The interactive district map of Paris makes it possible to see night spot venues at a glance. The site also features geolocation for mobile phones. Also featured, a selection of venues as well as an events calendar for nights out makes it even easier for you to plan your night... Since 2011, the smartphone application means you always have this precious tool! > One night only events and Les Nuits Capitales Paris is the city that gave birth to an event called La Nuit Blanche (Sleepless Night) which has since spread to Rome, Amsterdam and Toronto. For an entire night, on the first Saturday of October, works of art, screenings and installations by contemporary artists are on display throughout the city. Some are installed in the open air and others allow the public to discover particular venues open especially for the event (Église Saint-Eustache, Monnaie de Paris, Catacombes...). The festivities last from 7pm to 7am and various trails are organized by theme or by area. Another similar event takes place in May every year: La Nuit des Musées (Museum Night). Many have weekly concerts, often underground. Le Scopitone, opened in 2009, Le Tigre, La Bellevilloise and La Flèche d Or are the leading concert halls for the quality and variety of their programming. The Bus Palladium now offers a new deal: rock concerts for the first part of the evening, followed by clubbing. Although reservations are often advisable; La Bellevilloise is a place for a drink or dinner before attending one of their programmed concerts, which often put a spotlight on new and upcoming groups. As for the alternative scene, the choice ranges from the more general venues such as La Flèche d Or or Le Nouveau Casino, to venues like La Boule Noire with a more marked alternative identity. Experimental rock and the renowned Sonic Protest Festival have made les Voûtes in the 13th arrondissement one of their main venues. La Loge and Les Combustibles are two other concert venues boasting a top-quality programme despite their small size. 8 > Electro sounds Electronic music also has its own special venues: Le Social Club has become a reference point and is known overseas, thanks to the growing renown of French electro. Le Batofar and Le Showcase programme electro nights and other clubs, such as Le Red Light have made it their speciality. Even the most demanding of electronic music lovers are impressed by the festival La Villette Sonique, held every year at the end of May in the Parc de la Villette.
