1 1er arrondissement (1 st District) Parisian Districts: - The Louvre Museum - The Jardins des Tuileries: nice garden not far from SciencesPo, take advantage of it before winter! - The Orangerie Museum : For those who want to see Monet s Nympheas, and other of his works - The Place Vendôme: Famous hotels and French jewelry brands, a must-see for those who like luxury - The Pont-Neuf, the most famous and oldest of bridges in Paris - The Pont des Arts : said to be the most romantic bridge of Paris - Angelina, 226 Rue de Rivoli : Renowned for its hot chocolates and very tasty patisseries, a must-go for an afternoon tea (though it s a bit expensive ) - The Rue de Rivoli: to go shopping - Le Magnifique, 25 rue Richelieu: a very trendy and luxurious bar& nightclub, but the price surely goes with it - The Vivienne Gallery: A tiny and charming street, full of great art galleries 3 different entrances: 5, rue de la banque, / 6, rue vivienne, / 4, rue des petits champs, eme et 4eme arrondissements (3 rd and 4 th Districts) - The Place des Vosges: to have a rest, a coffee or for a picnic - L Hôtel de Ville and its beautiful square

2 - The Carnavalet Museum: more for its wonderful inner courtyard than for the museum s collection (in a word, just get in, have a look at the building and the garden, but don t necessarily visit the museum itself) - The Centre Georges Pompidou: the museum for modern arts; very good exhibitions and a quite... surprising building. - The rue des Rosiers: an old nice street in the heart of The Marais. - The Cathedral Notre-Dame - - L as du falafel, 34 rue des Rosiers: the best falafel of Paris, where both Parisians and tourists go - Rue Vieille du Temple: lots of nice coffees, restaurants, shops... - L apparemment cafe, 18 Rue des Coutures St-Gervais : a cosy restaurant, where you can make your own salads and borrow games to play with your friends - Le marché des Enfants Rouges, 39 Rue de Bretagne: A typical French market, where you can choose between diverse types of fresh breakfast or lunch - Le Loir dans la théière: An old-fashioned, cosy tea room with home-made succulent cakes 5eme arrondissement (5 th District) (one of my favourite) - The Panthéon: an impressive national monument - The Institut du monde arabe: an original and beautiful building, where you can have a quiet coffee and a great view of Paris at the top - The Jardin des Plantes: a nice flowery garden - La place de la Sorbonne: a small nice square facing the Sorbonne university many libraries, cafes... - Rue Mouffetard & Place de la Contrescarpe: a street with heaps of bars and tiny restaurants a good place to go out and have a drink

3 - The mosque of Paris: a quiet tea room where many people have a mint tea or arab postries, in sofas under olive trees - The batofar (a bit further, in the 13 th district): a boat where you can have a drink or a meal, as well as go clubbing. Well-known for its modern refined decoration and its terrace on the Seine. - Shakespeare & co, 37 Rue de la Bucherie (my favourite place in Paris): an old English library, where you can play chess and read upstairs, as well as take part in literary events all year-long. Really a must-do. (And it s opened till 11 pm) - The tiny streets of Saint Michel, its fountain, and the Docks in front of the Cathedral 6eme arrondissement (6 th District): - The Luxembourg garden - The senate - The Churches of Saint-Germain des Près and Saint-Sulpice (the latter is in front of a very nice fountain, and it s close to SciencesPo) - Rue de Rennes, for shopping - Les Deux Magots & the Cafe de Flore, two famous (and expensive) cafes - La Duree, 21 Rue Bonaparte: renowned for its delicious macarons - Vesuvio Pizzeria, 1 rue Gozlin: A good place if you are tired of the cafeteria in SciencesPo and want to eat proper pizzas at a reasonable price. It is a lot cheaper if you go downstairs (you order upstairs and eat in the room downstairs). - The Coolin, 15 rue Clement: A nice Irish Pub, where you may have homemade hamburgers and salads, or merely a coffee or a pint. They organise events in the evenings, and broadcast rugby - Rue Princesse: The place to go out for a drink many nice bars. 8eme & 9eme arrondissements (8 th & 9 th Districts): - The Champs Elysees

4 - The Arc de Triomphe - Place de la Concorde - Madeleine - The Grand & Petit Palais (great museums) - The Opera - The Galeries Lafayette - Musée Grévin - Marc & Spencer s food shop on the Champs Elysees: simple and tasty English food and pastries at a very reasonable price. If you like pancakes, scones, cookies, or sandwiches then it is a perfect place for you. It s only take-away, though - The Buddha Bar, 8 Rue Boissy d Anglas: A trendy and exotic place, 25 for a menu at lunch and 17 for a cocktail - La Maison de l Aubrac,37 Rue Marbeuf : the French high-class version of MacDonalds - but a lot better. Opened 7 days / 24 hours a week. - La Manufacture, 42 Rue de Rochechouart: a trendy bar with rock concerts, photo exhibitions.. 10 th district: - Ménilmontant, an old area with nice streets (Rue Laurence-Savart, rue des Cascades, rue de la Mare) - Parc des Buttes Chaumont - Parc de la Villette - The canal saint martin, to have a walk or even a picnic - Passage Brandy, 33 Boulevard de Strasbourg or 46 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Denis : a passage considered historica monument, but also THE indian area of paris - Le Pompon, 38 rue des petites-écuries : both a restaurant and a trendy club, (inaugurated during the Fashion Week of Paris..)

5 - The Saint-Quentin market, 85 boulevard Magenta: a big french market with everything you need 11 th district (very good area to go out!): - The famous place de la Bastille - Faubourg Saint-Antoine: one of the oldest streets of Paris, with many craftsmen (You can go to Le Passage du Chantier, Cour de l Étoile d or, La cour des Shadocks ) - Marché d Aligre: another well-known market of Paris - Cimetière Père-Lachaise (20 th district, just at the boundary between the 11 th and 20 th districts): The cemetery with all the well-known French personalities (Molière, Chopin, Proust, Balzac, Eluard, Edith Piaf, Jim Morrison ) - Opera Bastille: the second opera of Paris, next to the Place de la Bastille - Le Lieu du Design, 74 rue du Faubourg Saint Antoine : a lace promoting design and modern artists ; they also held exhibitions and support sustainability - Le Perchoir, 14 rue Crespin du Gast : a very nice (but a bit expensive!) restaurant, with one of the best views on Paris thanks to its terrace. Take advantage of the good weather! - The bars in the streets around the Place de la Bastille: this area is very animated at night; there are lots of bars that can be quite cheap - Le baron rouge, 1 rue T-Roussel: a wine bar, with cheese and charcuterie - La Bastide, 18 rue de Lappe : A cheap bar with good old music and a 1970s decoration. 14 th district: - The Tour Montparnasse

6 - The Parc Montsouris - Rue d Alésia, to go shopping - The Bourdelle Museum, 16 rue Antoine-bourdelle - Fondation Cartier, 261 Boulevard Raspail: Art foundation, with original exhibitions and a surprising building - L Entrepot, 7 rue Francis-de-Pressense: a restaurant/cafe promoting arts, with exhibitions, books, movies... and a nice garden. Brunch on Sundays. (The 15 th is cool too: you can go to the bars of Convention, and to a very good Boulangerie, the Boulangerie Pichard, 88 rue Cambronne) 16 th district (and part of the 7 th ) - The Eiffel tower, the Trocadéro and the Champ de Mars - Palais de Tokyo, 11 avenue du president Wilson: Museum of modern art - Invalides - Musée Rodin, 79 rue de Varenne - Musée du Quay Branly, 37 quai Branly: very good museum of primitive arts - Book Market, 104 rue Brancion: many traditional bouquinistes, to buy second-hand or old books 18 th district: - Montmartre and the Sacre-Coeur - The Musée de Montmartre - Place Pigalle - Espace Dali

7 - The Moulin Rouge (no, actually don t) - Les fromages de Marie, 32 rue des Abesses: A store with delicious French cheeses - Cinéma 28, 10 rue Tholozé : A trendy cinema decorated by the famous Jean Cocteau where you can also have a drink; a must-go : - Montmartre at night and take a romantic walk through the streets (a scenery seen in all movies taking place in Paris ) Next to SciencesPo: - Le Bizuth - La Basile - Le Sauvignon (wine bar) - Cojean (good place to get healthy and very good takeaway it s a bit expensive thoguh..)
