2 MISSION De Re Metallica Ingeniería Limitada, DRM, is a Chilean consulting company for industrial processes, created in August 1995 by outstanding professionals in the copper extractive metallurgy. Our mission is to advise companies in the mining and metallurgical field as well as other industrial activities, in a series of aspects such as: Project Engineering, New Process Development, Diagnosis of Industrial Operations, Metallurgical Auditing, Process Optimization and Control, Computational Code Development, Project Evaluation, Patenting Studies and Professional Training. Differentiating element compared to conventional engineering is the TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION component in all our work, evidenced through intensive use of Basic Sciences and Engineering Sciences aimed to solve the industrial problems presented to us. DRM has the response capacity of engineering companies with the deepness of a research centre or university.

3 OUR PERSONS Jorge Menacho Llaña Yadranka Zivkovic Domic : Outstanding Chilean professional in the mining industry. He was awarded as the Professional of the Year in 2005 by the Chilean Institution for Mining Engineers and the Ramón Salas Edwards Award to the Outstanding Contribution to Engineering published within years , distinction given by the Chilean Engineer Institution in His background includes basic sciences (B.Sc. Chemistry, University of Chile, 1972) and engineering sciences (D.Sc. Metallurgical Engineering, University of Concepción, Chile, 1985, and Post Doct at Pennsylvania State University, USA, ). Field of interest are Hydrometallurgy, Mineral Processing and Environment. He has been linked to several universities, the Mining and Metallurgical Research Centre (CIMM) and engineering companies. Since 1995 he holds the Technical Manager position at DRM. : Chemical Civil Engineer from the University of Concepción, Chile. She worked shortly for the University of Concepción, then for CIMM and DRM since She has been involved in a variety of projects mainly in the Hydrometallurgy field. Areas of interest are process math modeling for optimization and environment control and the study of chemical topics in SX, contaminant behavior and patenting studies. She is Senior Consultant and Operation Manager at DRM.

4 Patricio Chávez Espinoza : Metallurgical Civil Engineer from the University of Santiago, Chile. He has been involved in many optimization projects as well as metallurgical auditing. He is skilled in process analysis, dynamic modeling, optimization and code development. He is Process Engineer at DRM. Elvis Peñaloza Ortiz : Metallurgical Engineer from the National University San Agustín de Arequipa Perú, he also holds a technical degree in Informatic Systems from the System and Data Processing Institute IPSIPRODA, Perú. He has been involved in development of design and optimization computing codes as well as metallurgical process studies. He currently holds the Process Engineer position at DRM. Boris Merino Pulgar : Metallurgical Civil Engineer from the University of Concepción, Chile. He has been involved in many optimization projects as well as metallurgical auditing. 6 WORKING FIELD DRM is highly skilled in process development, engineering studies and operational analysis with robust knowledge on basic and engineering sciences, much deeper than conventional engineering companies, for whom DRM use to be Consultant. Our knowledge on fundamentals allows to face any industrial process, but our experience is centered in Hydrometallurgy, Mineral Processing and Environmental Issues. We are expert in solving specific process problems and also in the overall optimization and control of industrial plants, strongly oriented toward immediate improvement of the business result, a highly valued feature in these high price days. How can we do this? By using our rich 35 years experience in process analysis and also by handling a battery of phenomenological models, most of them developed by ourselves, with intense use of transport phenomena, chemical kinetics, thermodynamics, reactor analysis, bioprocessing and other tools to model, simulate and optimize industrial operations.
