2 Post-Graduate Studies: Doctor of Philosophy ( Ph. D. ), Minerals Exploration The studies were carried out at the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College of Science and Technology, London University, England. The studies included three and a half years of research and specialized studies in geological sciences. The Ph. D. thesis subject was the development and application of new vapour and gas geochemical techniques to the minerals exploration of hydrotermal deposits covered by overburden in northern Chile, including technique development, tests and evaluation over covered deposits at Chuqui Norte (Cu), Cachinal (Ag), Guanaco (Au) and Quebrada M - El Salvador (Cu). ACHIEVEMENTS 2010 Qualified in March of 2010 as Competent Person (Geology) Nº63 by Comision Minera de Chile (Ley Nº Chile) Present Manager in Chile for INGESOL Ltda. and METEX Holding Ltda., companies dedicated to the development and exploitation of new metallurgical technology for copper production from sulphide ores. An industrial pilot test of a clean-mining copper sulphide ore heapleaching process and by-products is currently in preparation Senior Geologist and Professor at INACAP Maipú, Escuela de Ingeniería de Minas and INACAP Renca, Escuela de Construcción Civil Consultant in Chile for GEKKO Systems Pty. Ltd., Australia, manufacturers of especialized gold recovery equipment. A titanium sands recovery test was developed for CODELCO Present Development of a Hot Dry Rock geothermal energy promotion project with USA and Chile experts. 2

3 3 Investors are currently being sought for funding of preliminary evaluation study for attraction of energy companies Present Manager and partner of Oregon Ltda., agency in Chile of The Oregon and Chilean Exploration and Mining Co., a private partnership based in the U.S.A. Main achievements include: Establishment and operation of a minerals exploration company that established 50,000 hectares of maining claims, including its reconnaissance and basic exploration, which covered four major porphyry copper mining prospects emplaced in large active mining districts of northern Chile. Promotion and signing of 5 option and sales contracts with major mining companies for a global amount of US$ 30,000,000.-; said contracts resulted in the discovery of three new prospects with a high copper ore discovery potential; major discoveries of copper mineralization carried out by geophysics or drilling suggest potential discoveries may reach several hundreds of million of tons of copper ores. Investment of US$ 4,500,000.- in the exploration of high potential mineral prospects with promising results indicated above. Additional investments are currently under study. Application in 2006 at the U.S. Patent Office of a new highefficiency and environmentally clean technology for the hydrometallurgical processing of sulphide ores, including copper sulphides, which was granted in The patented processes are currently in the planning and development stages of industrial testing. New metallurgical patent processes are under conceptual and patenting development. Study of natural supergenic copper ores leaching and enrichment phenomena and processes in sulphide ore deposits, including large tonnage deposits in arid northern Chile. Work included theoretical studies, experiments and laboratory concept testing. Development and testing of new metallurgical processing concepts for copper, molybdenum and silver leaching. Development and testing of new metallurgical processing concepts for iron, iodine and titanium. Molybdenum metallogenesis studies. Efficient recovery of fine particles in flotation, a UNDP metallurgical recovery project in selected copper deposits. Design and development of an arid zone ephemeral stream sediment geochemical map in a 2,000 Km 2 region of northern Antofagasta, including Cu, Au, Ag, Co, Ni, K, Rb, Sr y Li. Research on the genesis and evolution of Chilean nitrate deposits. Results were published in 2005 in the USA. Development and implementation of a computer database for igneous rocks for the International Geological Correlation Program - IGCP 239. Development and implementation of a computerized database of 20 years of Academic Production at the Department de Geosciences, Universidad Católica del Norte, Antofagasta. Development and implementation of a computerized database of Geologist Degree Thesis for 20 years of Academic Activity at Departamento de Geociencias, Universidad Católica del Norte, Antofagasta. 4

Main responsibilities included: Development and international/national patenting of 4 new processes for sulphide ores hydrometallurgy, including heap-leaching (2 patents), concentrate leaching and vat leaching of ROM copper sulphides ores. Conceptual and/or laboratory test development of new methods for production of metllic Fe and metallic Ti from its ores. Representation of water desalination plant manufacturers from the USA. Sales and development of solar water heating equipment. Development of low-cost water desalination machine. Patenting of steel-reinforced construction method by use of fast, reusable casting moulds. Concept development for patenting of high efficiency electric motors and power generators Senior Consultant in Minerals Exploration for Freeport Minera - Chile, a subsidiary of Freeport-Mac Moran Corp., U. S. A. Main duties included: 1) The conceptual design and development of new gold exploration areas in Antofagasta, including mining concession claiming over selected areas and field reconnaissance campaigns. Recommendation were made for a new gold mineralization belt to be explored Senior Exploration Geologist for CHEVRON Minera de Chile Inc., a subsidiary of Chevron Corporation, U.S.A. Main duties and responsibilities included: 5

6 6 Chief Exploration Geologist at CHEVRON for El Indio Gold District Project, La Serena, Chile. Exploration work included: prospect selecting, intensive gold exploration of 100 Km 2 Libra Project (adjacent to El Indio mine), including technical inspection of geochemical laboratories and its selection for the exploration of gold deposits using trace metal analyses in 16,000 samples; road building over prospect areas and collecting of samples in roadcuts; detailed geological mapping of 85 Km 2 project area at 1:10,000 scale; operational supervision of 57 men camp, including camp facilities, vehicles, bulldozers and helicopter operations; discovery of major geochemical anomalies related to gold deposit occurrence; results suggested that the mineralization with gold is positive with major geochemical anomalies revealing a gold mineralization pattern over a large portion of the study area. Reconnaissance visits and exploration recommendations of other gold prospects within the district. Project work included the direct supervision and field administration of a US$ 2,400,000.- investment. A geological hypothetical potential at over 10MOz. Au resource is estimated possible for the area explored. Geological data evaluation and recommendations for the exploration of a 2,000 Km 2 area of the Sierra Gorda copper district. Field reconnaissance at Sierra Gorda and development of a rock sampling campaign in 1,500 nitrate exploration pits. An IP/Resistivity survey recommendation resulted in a major drilling campaign. Conceptual model, selection, ranking and recommendation of porphyry copper targets exploration, including in particular the Sierra Gorda District and the Collahuasi porphyry copper prospect concept development and recommendation; the Collahuasi recommendation resulted in field exploration and drilling by Chevron which first discovered the 760MTonnes of copper ores Rosario porphyry copper; later in the exploration, Chevron invited Falconbridge and finally Minorco to participate in the development of the Collahuasi porphyry copper district. Continued exploration in the district by current owners has exposed the occurrence of over 37BTonnes of Cu/mo ores Senior Exploration Geologist for AMOCO Minera de Chile Inc., a subsidiary of Amoco Oil Corp., U.S.A. Principal Exploration Geologist for the Calama - Quebrada Blanca Project, Andean porphyry copper district, Chile. Responsibilities and exploration work included reconnaissance of a 5,000 Km 2 area and 6

7 7 prospect selection. Detailed exploration of El Abra East (Cu), Collahuasi (Cu) and Copaquire (Mo) prospects was recommended. Conceptual grass-roots exploration for high-grade volcanogenic stratiform copper deposits of the Coast Range between Nogales (V Region) and Santa Cruz (VII Region) Research Geologist at Geochemistry Division, Chile s Geological Survey (Instituto de Investigaciones Geológicas de Chile, CORFO-CODELCO). Main responsibilities included research and development of geochemical exploration techniques, including rock, soil, stream sediments and gas geochemistry surveys. During this period the author developed field work in several copper, gold and silver prospects; and post-graduate studies in minerals exploration supported by the Instituto de Investigaciones Geológicas - Chile and UK MIRO (Minerals Exploration Companies Syndicate) at the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College of Science and Technology, London; England. Overall research investment was US$ 200,000.- /year.
