Woody, PhD (Michigan State University), ScD (University of Pittsburgh), JD (Creighton University), is a UNO Professor of Psychology. Professor Woody holds governance roles at UNO and with the American Psychological Association. In , he serves as President of the UNO Faculty Senate. Academically, he is an Attorney (Nebraska, Michigan, and Florida Bars) and a Psychologist (licensed in Michigan). Formerly, he was a sworn law enforcement officer with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. His current scholarly interests include governmental influence on and regulation of health care services, psychology of safety, and psychology of music. That is, for example, rather than conducting experiments or producing statistical analyses of data, I could contribute the most by focusing on cultivating increased knowledge and refining skills for professional practices, whether it be in law, psychology, education, health services, or music. In summary, providing professional practice-related information has been the raison d étre for my scholarly writing. I have authored/edited thirty-nine books and over two hundred articles.
