3 PROGRAM CHAIR JOSEPH SHAUB Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Attorney at Law NE 33 rd Place, Ste. 109 Bellevue, WA JOSEPH SHAUB has a diverse practice which includes marital/couples counseling; individual psychotherapy, family mediation and various unbundled legal services. He was a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley and the University of Southern California Law School in Joe received his Masters Degree in 1991 from the California Family Study Center and has been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Washington since arriving here in He maintains his counseling practice in Bellevue and provides mediation services both in his Bellevue and Seattle offices. In 2008, he was Visiting Professor in the Family Law Clinic of the Ronald A. Peterson Law Clinic at Seattle University Law School. For the past 9 years he has been an instructor at the University of Washington Law School in Interviewing and Counseling and Negotiation and he is a co-developer with Dr. Andy Benjamin of the law school seminar Practical and Ethical Issues in Solo and Small Firm Practice. He was a presenter at the Washington State Bar Family Law Mid-Year Conference , 2008 and His presentations have included Attachment and It s Impact on Divorce and Parenting; The Psychology of Divorce; Systems Principles for Family Lawyers; How to Deal With Difficult Lawyers and Not Become One and Marriage 101 for the Divorce Lawyer. Joe s 2002 talk was one of the highest rated CLE presentations of the year. He edited the revised Chapter on the Psychological Aspects of Divorce in the Washington Family Law Deskbook. For many years, Joe was a bi-monthly columnist for the King County Bar Bulletin on Personal Skills for Lawyers and he has authored a number of articles for the Washington State Bar News, including The Client s Perspective on Legal Divorce (April, 1999) and Dealing With the Most Difficult Clients (May, 2005). His articles can be accessed on Joe s website, He is also a frequent lecturer on Law & Ethics for Therapists and has been an adjunct instructor at Antioch University, Seattle for a number of years. Joe has been involved in the Collaborative Law movement in Washington since 2004, when he became a member of the Board of Directors of Northwest Collaborative Divorce, the predecessor organization of King County Collaborative Law. He has conducted numerous trainings in collaborative law and was a panelist in the WSBA s first CLE program on Collaborative Law in March, Faculty Biographies 3 of 4

5 FACULTY DON DESONIER th Ave SE Mercer Island, WA DON DESONIER helps divorcing or separating individuals achieve a respectful resolution. He is a collaborative family law attorney, divorce legal coach, FasTrack Divorce attorney, and family mediator. Mr. Desonier is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Seattle University School of Law, teaching in the areas of Dispute Resolution, Mediation, Collaborative Law, Negotiation, and Client Counseling. Don is a past President of King County Collaborative Law. WENDY HUTCHINS-COOK, Ph.D., ABFP/ABPP 411 University Street SUITE 1200 Seattle, WA WENDY HUTCHINS-COOK, Ph.D., ABFP/ABPP, received her Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Washington in She received Board Certification in Forensic Psychology in 2006 from the American Board of Professional Psychology. Dr. Hutchins-Cook serves on the Clinical Faculties of the University of Washington Department of Psychology and the Medical School Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Dr. Hutchins-Cook is in private practice. She is regularly appointed by the court as a parenting evaluator, and testifies as an expert in child and family matters. She presents regularly for the King County Bar Association. KRISTIN LITTLE, MA, MS, LMHC 600 North 36th Street Suite #327 Seattle, WA [email protected] KRISTIN LITTLE is an active member of King County Collaborative Law with a growing practice as a Collaborative Divorce Child Specialist. She has provided therapy for children and families in a variety of community agency settings for the past 17 years and is certified in Washington State as a Child Mental Health Specialist. In addition to her work as a Collaborative Divorce Child Specialist her private practice also offers support for co-parenting partners and for individual s experiencing the difficult transition of divorce. 6 MARNEE MILNER, J.D., PH.D. 216 First Ave S Suite 333 Seattle, WA (206) [email protected] MARNEE MILNER, J.D., Ph.D. is a forensic and clinical Psychologist/neuropsychologist and attorney who received her joint doctoral degrees from Golden Gate University School of Law and Pacific Graduate School of Psychology (now known as Palo Alto University). She has trained at the Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System and at Brown University, Butler Hospital. Dr. Milner worked as a family law practitioner in the Bay Area for approximately 4 to 5 years before she moved to Seattle for two years where she taught graduate level psychology and opened her practice focusing on child custody evaluations and neuropsychological assessments. Dr. Milner spent 2009 back in California as the clinical neuropsychologist on the Polytruama Rehabilitation Center at the Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System. In 2010 Dr. Milner returned to Seattle, permanently. She maintains her private clinical and forensic evaluation practice and provides consultation and representation to mental health professionals on ethical/legal issues. LYNN TIENKEN, MS, LMHC Redmond Way, Ste 201 Redmond, WA LYNN TIENKEN, MS LMHC has a private family therapy practice in Redmond, Washington. As a family therapist for 30 years, parent and community presenter, and mother of two married sons Lynn if familiar with the challenges of couples and parents to maintain intimate and meaningful relationships. She utilizes brain research and Imago intentional dialogue to help individuals maintain healthy communication and face into their own vulnerabilities.
