1 INTRODUCTION The Polycom Certified Videoconferencing Engineer (PCVE) examination tests that the successful candidate has the necessary knowledge to perform implementation, configuration and troubleshooting operations for small to medium-sized environments on the Polycom RealPresence Platform including: RealPresence Solutions Universal Video Collaboration Video Resource Management Virtualization Management Enterprise Video Capture Universal Access & Security In addition, the PCVE exam will validate the individual s knowledge of networking models, standards and protocols relevant to videoconferencing. Both these elements will verify that the individual has the knowledge and skills required by Polycom to offer support to the customer and end-user, and understand the information that should be gathered when escalating more complex problems. Any individual who feels he or she has the requisite experience can take the test and if successful they will be PCVE certified. For students who are new to videoconferencing and Polycom solutions the following preparation is recommended: CompTIA Network+ certification or equivalent knowledge to successfully complete the networking fundamentals portion. This is not mandatory but is highly recommended Polycom Fundamentals elearning modules which cover networking models, standards and protocols and are approximately 2 hours in duration RealPresence Platform: Installation, Configuration & Troubleshooting (Level 2) RPIIT202 5-day classroom training Practical experience of the RealPresence Platform and review of the product documentation UPDATES Polycom will update the question bank at least once a year to reflect new releases. The updates will be aligned with those applied to the RealPresence Platform: Installation, Configuration & Troubleshooting (Level 2) RPIIT202 course.
