11 Retired Professor Emeritus, Albina Snarskis Golden, who was a member of the faculty from the beginning, remembers another event which occurred in There was the incident during which striking students (in protest of the Vietnam War) stole the manikin Mrs. Chase from the nursing lab. Trailing behind was Miss Charbonneau, the nursing program chairman, in hot pursuit. The latter successfully retrieved the property. Anna White, Chairman Nursing Advisory December 1986

29 Question to Faculty, How has Cape Cod Community College s Nursing program changed over the years since you have been here? I can think of a number of changes that have impacted me and students as well. But of all the changes, the one that has had the greatest positive effect on morale, organization, and faculty and student support, was the addition of Kerry Sullivan as our administrative assistant. Betty Ann Davis, RN, MSN There was no computer support in 1996 when I was hired. Lectures were done with handouts and overhead projectors, and students took tons of notes. Rita McGurk, RN, BSN,MSN,PhD Much more technology... my first year here there were only four phones! Getting a phone in each office was a luxury, then computers. Joy Haagsma, RN,BS,MSN Technology has been infused into the curriculum. Faculty began with PC s on their desk for advising, , and now Moodle. Information literacy was established in Simulation mannequins have been incorporated into the campus lab experiences. Barbara Murphy, RN, BSN, MSN
30 Students didn t have cell phones, so if I received a call about a student s sick child, I had to figure out where the student was on that particular day: classroom, lab, clinical, or community site. Kerry Sullivan Lectures were done with handouts, chalkboards and overheads. Everything was handwritten and mimeographed. If we were expecting a fax, the library would call and say you have a fax and we would run over and get it. Now information is ed. Marcy JT Smith, MS, RN, FAIS, BCETS I graduated from CCCC in 1990 and was the president of the Nursing Club. When I became a faculty member, I was talking to Mitzie Anderson about something and she told me to go ask your instructor and I said OK. But then realized I am the instructor! Laura Seabury, MSN, APRN-BC (soon to be PhD) The nursing program has expanded to include the LPN to RN program and the evening option. More prerequisites are required in the general curriculum and Pharmacology Calculations became a separate class. Pediatrics and maternity were integrated into the program. Louise Speakman, RN, MA, PhD
