Autism Research Coordinator Center for Children with Special Needs (CCSN) Tufts Medical Center, Boston MA Contact: Dr. Roula Choueiri Acted as the lead Autism Research Assistant on projects dealing with early prevention and diagnosis of autism under Dr. Roula Choueiri. Main responsibilities included start-up organization and coordination of two new grant-funded projects, testing children using the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) and a new experimental diagnostic method known as the Social Awareness Knowledge Test (SAKT). Administered diagnostic testing to children, created and updated all IRB documents, assisted with grant and paper writing, collected and analyzed data, presented at conferences on preliminary results, coordinated with patients and addressed all administrative concerns. ADHD Research Associate Department of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics Tufts Medical Center, Boston MA Contact: Dr. Naomi Steiner Assisted Dr. Naomi Steiner as a member of the Computer Attention-Training Software (CATS) team addressing concerns in ADHD through behavioral and neurofeedback methodologies. Contributed to the research team by observing children in schools using the Behavioral Observation of Students in Schools (BOSS) procedure, coding and entering data, creating forms and databases, editing and contributing to IRB and research documents and other special projects as needed. 3 Lead Clinical Research Coordinator for the New Approaches to Neuroblastoma Therapy (NANT) program, heading eight active clinical trials for children with high-risk Neuroblastoma under Drs. Araz Marachelian and Judith Viablanca. Oversaw patients through clinical trial process including consent/assent and addressing procedural questions and concerns Developed and maintained new databases, data forms, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and specific protocol aids such as an adverse event reporting guide. Presented on adverse events and how patient sharing at national conferences and held a research coordinator specific break-out workshop on those topics as well. Research Assistant Department of Social Psychology University of Massachusetts, Amherst MA Worked independently under graduate students in a social psychology lab to contribute to a project in influences of peer approval on drinking and associated behaviors in college students. Collaborated on study design and methodology, brainstormed improvements at weekly meetings, conducted literature searches, aided in survey creation, and administered surveys to participants. Research Assistant Department of Clinical Psychology University of Massachusetts, Amherst MA Assisted graduate students on a project examining influences of differing parental abilities and parenting styles on preschool aged children. Helped develop a coding scheme for data, coded and analyzed results, collaborated on project design and organization, recruited study participants and performed administrative tasks as needed. Students come in with projects their stakeholders have committed to, and I guide them in methods, logic models and conducting data collection targeted for their various organizations. Help students troubleshoot through evaluations by meeting and communicating with all teams weekly and advising them on how to work through issues with the evaluation as they arise.
