VENUE: The event will take place in the beautiful Belgrade Forests of Istanbul. These natural forests with their intricate web of paths have hosted the world famous Istanbul 5 Days multistage orienteering events in foot orienteering, and will now be opening its doors to a 2 day WRE event in mountain bike orienteering. The Sprint is located in Kurtkemeri and the Middle Distance Championship is located in the Ayvat Bendi area of the Belgrade forests. The Model Event will resemble the terrain for both races and will be held in the Valide Sultan Bendi area of the forests.

The Model Event will resemble the terrain for both races. Combination of forest roads and narrow tracks. Thorny bushes can be very close to tracks. Map: A4, 5 m contours, scale 1:10000 You may get your model event map on site from the official on duty. Controls are flagged but are not timed.

Occasional ATV riders to be expected. Map: A4, 5 m contours, scale 1:7.500 Sunday 2 June 2013 Middle Distance (WRE) Location: Ayvat Bendi Start Times: from am Award Ceremony: 14:30 pm Terrain: Combination of forest roads and narrow tracks. Map: A4, 5 m contours, scale 1:10000 TECHNICAL INFORMATION IOF Competition Rules for MTBO Events will apply. SportIdent will be used for timing. SI cards may be hired if competitors do not have their own. Off track riding is possible but not advised due to thorny undergrowth. Tire protection is strongly advised. SPECIAL MAP FEATURES Maps are in accordance with ISMTBOM Special features used are summarized below: Non-ridable narrow forest ride. The obstacle symbol has been used if the obstacle requires even the elite rider to dismount. Fallen trees over or under which a rider may pass easily without dismounting are not marked on the map. Forbidden to enter Picnic areas with children running around ride with care The vehicle roads surrounding the competition area are extremely dangerous due to fast traffic and must NOT be used.

WINNING TIMES & MAXIMUM TIME ON COURSE According to IOF standards, the winning times have been estimated as: SPRINT 1 June, minutes MIDDLE 2 June, minutes for women, minutes for men Maximum time on course is: SPRINT 1 June, 70 minutes MIDDLE 2 June, 150 minutes Those exceeding the maximum time on course will not be placed.

5 ACCOMODATION The main accommodation center is the Event Center at Üsküdar. The price is very reasonable, 30 TL per person per night, breakfast included. Dinner is 12,5 TL extra. We suggest all participants stay here and create an atmosphere of socializing and sharing experience also. TRANSPORTATION TO COMPETITION VENUES Bus & bike transportation will be arranged from the official accommodation center and from the city to the start areas each day. Buses will start from main accommodation place and also pick up participants from 4. Levent subway station.
