2 Expandable and Flexible Design The modular design of the TD500 means that it can be configured to meet the needs of smaller organisations with as few as 8 extensions and lines, through to larger organisations with as many as 448 extensions and up to 192 lines (maximum 512 ports). So that you only pay for the capacity you need at any point in time, the TD500 is available in 3 sizes. As smaller businesses grow, the one, two, and three shelf configuration provides expansion from 192 ports (1 shelf), to 384 ports (2 shelves) to 512 ports (3 shelves). 1 Shelf 2 Shelves 3 Shelves The free slot architecture makes it possible to insert any of the range of available expansion cards into any slot in the system. This means that the system can be tailored to meet your specific requirements with additional functionality achieved by simply inserting the appropriate cards. The success of Panasonic s range of smaller telephone systems has been largely due to their Super Hybrid Architecture. This architecture is also supported by the TD500 which provides the flexibility to connect the same wide range of analogue and digital handsets in addition to single line devices such as fax machines, cordless phones and answering machines without the need for additional hardware. Inclusive Software Package When selecting a PABX for your organisation, an important consideration needs to be not just the total feature set supported by the PABX, but which features you are getting for your money. Panasonic helps makes your decision easy. When you purchase a TD500 PABX, the entire feature set is included in the software package. This means that if after purchase of a TD500, your company needs a call centre or the ability to automatically route calls, you will not incur high additional charges to have the new features added to the system. Your only costs will be for additional hardware (if required) and the services of a technician to implement the changes to your system data.

3 ISDN(Integrated Services Digital Network) You are considering purchasing a digital PABX, so why would you connect it to the analogue telephone network? ISDN is fully supported by the Panasonic TD500 and provides your business with a wide range of benefits for voice and data communications. Calls made via ISDN are generally terminated quicker and transmission is clearer, all benefits of digital technology. Another benefit of ISDN is the ability to support higher speed data communication. When connected as an ISDN extension on the TD500 it is possible for high speed modems and video conference equipment to share the ISDN line capacity with voice extensions on the system. This means that it is no longer necessary to allocate separate ISDN lines to your data communications and video conference equipment. Some of the biggest benefits of ISDN are in the way that incoming calls are handled. Direct In-dial makes it possible to reach each extension from outside the office using a unique telephone number, this can result in huge cost savings by reducing operator workload. ISDN also makes it possible to receive and view the number of the calling party when receiving an incoming call, and if this call is not answered the TD500 will keep a log of unanswered calls so that you can call back customers once you return to your desk.

4 Networking Capability Two or more TD500 PABX s can be connected together over a private network, this makes it easier for staff to dial an extension located at a branch or head office, saving time and money. Networking is possible using either E&M tie lines or E1 digital trunks. Automatic Route Selection Automatic Route Selection (ARS) is used to modify dialled numbers and select trunks based on a predetermined set of criteria. Often referred to as Least Cost Routing, this feature can select the most cost effective route based on the number dialled, time of day and trunk availability. This feature is particularly beneficial to companies that have a corporate numbering scheme that covers more than one site, digit modification ensures that calls to other sites are routed via a private network or carrier based corporate numbering scheme, minimising call costs. Catering for the Call Centre Calls can be automatically directed to a group of extensions. If all agents in the group are busy, waiting callers can be played a message, or can overflow to an alternate destination including voice mail. A supervisor can monitor queue and agent status from a digital handset to ensure that customer service levels are maintained. Tenant Service Tenant Service makes it possible to spread the cost of the PABX over a maximum of 8 different companies or departments. Each tenant can share or have exclusive use of system resources as required by programming. Hospitality Features The TD500 is designed with the hospitality market in mind. A Property Management System (PMS) interface supports Check-in/Check-out of guests, guest name, room status, wake-up calls, message notification, Do Not Disturb, MiniBar Status, and much more.

5 Voice Processing Systems The TD500 can be digitally integrated with the range of Panasonic Voice Processing Systems. Two sizes of voice processing systems are available, each of these systems is expandable and can be configured to suit your business needs. Few businesses today can afford to be without the convenience of voic . Voic streamlines communication by allowing customers and other employees to leave a message when you are not able to take a call. This saves time, reduces costs and minimises lost opportunities. The Panasonic TVP100/200 systems support a range of voice mail features such as group distribution, message transfer, external message notification and delivery. When digitally integrated with the TD500 PABX, it is also possible to use Live Call Screening which allows you to monitor your voice mail box while incoming callers are leaving a message and, if desired, intercept an important call. Another useful feature is Two Way Recording which allows conversations to be recorded into your mailbox or a colleagues mailbox for future playback or distribution. Automated Attendant Answers and routes incoming calls, thereby reducing operator workload and ensuring professional call handling after hours. Interview Service Asks customers up to 10 questions for automated product ordering. Customer responses can be recorded into a mailbox, eliminating the task of manually collecting standard information and providing improved levels of customer service. 6 User-friendly Handsets Designed specifically for use with Panasonic s Digital Phone Systems, the 74 series Digital Handsets enable easy system access and use. Our research indicates that most phone system users do not take advantage of many of the features their phone system has to offer. This is mostly due to system features not being easily accessible or user-friendly. For this reason, Panasonic designed their Digital Handsets with Jog Dial. Jog Dial allows users quick and easy access to system features, speed dial telephone lists and handset controls at the turn of a dial. Another feature designed to improve staff efficiency is whisper off-hook call announce. This allows users to whisper a message to a work colleague while he or she is on the phone to another person. It is therefore possible to announce an important call to a colleague without the third party being able to hear the announcement. The extra Device Port (XDP) found on the back of every Digital Handset enables the connection of single line devices such as faxes, cordless phones, or answering machines. These devices can be assigned the same extension number as the desk phone (in parallel) so that as your desk XDP phone rings, so does your cordless phone, or with a different extension number, effectively increasing your extension capacity.
