2 CCBC Global Education program- students engage in globalized courses Special Topics Courses that can focus on Asiancentered topics Frederick Core course infusement; Module development Development of new courses Howard Community College HCC has already developed an Asian Studies program Asian-focused courses are developed and on the books for the next academic year A snapshot of colleges 2
3 YEAR ONE Tapping into local resources in Baltimore and Washington, DC How to create awareness for and raise excitement about Asian Studies at our three campuses 3
4 Building off of Professor Yongue s student interest in meditation as practice Building off of all three college s robust nursing programs Request distinguished lecturer to speak on Eastern vs Western medicine; holistic meditation Utilize the History of Medicine department at Johns Hopkins Since JHU Medical School is local, we would have the funds for possibly two speakers: one at CCBC (tap Baltimore public) and another at FCC (tap Frederick public); money for buses from the other colleges for students/faculty to both events; lecture in morning, vegetarian lunch with informal Q&A with speaker, meditation in the afternoon Speaker on Eastern Medicine 4
